The Freeman PFL618C Pneumatic 3-in-1 15.5-Gauge and 16-Gauge 2 in. Flooring Nailer and Stapler is an excellent choice for the installation of 1/2 in. to 3/4 in. solid tongue and groove hardwood flooring. This air powered tool is compatible with 15.5-Gauge 1/2 in. crown staples, 16-Gauge T-cleats, and 16-Gauge L-cleats from 1-1/2 in. to 2 in. for all three types of fasteners. The lightweight body of this combination flooring nailer and stapler is constructed of die cast aluminum, with a hardened steel 1-piece drive blade for durability. 2 interchangeable no mar base plates provide stability for this versatile tool and prevent damage to finished flooring surfaces, ensuring professional results for DIYers and construction contractors. Recent upgrades have been made to the shape of the foot, along with adding a semi-quick release for easier access to the drive blade in the event of a jammed fastener. Other features include an ergonomically designed handle to reduce fatigue during use, and an air filter/anti-dust cap to protect internal components from debris. I bought this nailer instead of renting one due to the price and reviews. I was going to need it for some time and renting would have been too expensive. I had looked at other nailers in the store at twice the price but with the reviews I read I thought I would give this one a try. I absolutely love it!! I have only had a couple misfires when installing 800 square feet of flooring and those were my fault. Don’t hesitate if considering this nailer. You won’t regret it.

I put down 500 sq/ft of Home Legend solid bamboo flooring using the 1/2″ foot and 1 1/2″ 16 ga L-cleats also the asphalt kraft paper. . No problems and it looks great.

After reading previous reviews I figured I’d give it a shot. Approx 500-600sq ft down so far without ONE issue. Took the advice of others and put a little oil in every 4-5 nail strips. Using 2″ T nails into hickory. Great nailer, especially for the money. I could buy 2 cheaper than one bostitch or other name brand. Highly recommended

I’m not a contractor and don’t have prior experience with floor nailers, but I have put in 400 sqft of 3/4″ oak and my friend has done at least that much with this gun. It has worked PERFECTLY. No miss-fires at all. I was expecting a cheaply built tool because of how much less this nailer costs than others. But, it seems like a very well built tool. I was going to just sell it on Craigslist after I finished my remodel, but I think I’ll keep it. It might be nice to pay the $30 more for the one with the hard plastic case. I was only using L-cleats, but it worked great.
