i love my g-drive mobile – it has been reliable from the start. mainly used for video.

I use my G-Drive hard drives to store RAW photography (I work with Lightroom). I have had two desktop hard drives from G-Technology for years now and have absolutely no complaints, but those are of course, not meant for travel. However, having had only those for some time, I have spent a whole lot of time wrapping them up and protecting them for travel (I know…silly.) I finally got around to order my mobile drive. When I received my order from B&H, I sat in ritual with my shipment – as usual – and when I held this tiny little lightweight mobile drive in my hand, I exclaimed, Look at the size of this thing! Soon thereafter I traveled up North and realized just how seamlessly I can fit this little drive everywhere. When I returned from my trip, all I could say is, Size really does matter!

This thing head crashed in less than a year. I’m only going to buy SSDs for on the go from now on. it was simply in my padded briefcase. Loved it till this happened. Don’t worry, I still love G technology as a brand.

Needed a general purpose USB drive. This one works fine and is quite as expected.

This thing worked like a dream as soon as it arrived. Its the first drive Ive purchased already formatted for macOS which is important for use as an iTunes media server. Great delivery options from B&H. Will use them again!

This is one of many G-Drive external hard drives I have purchased, being used as a backup for my digital photography. It is Mac compatible and simply requires plugging it in. It is an excellent and well made mini hard drive. I only gave it 4 stars because, after using it, I saw that it was partitioned, with information to be used with a PC. I was able to remove the partition but had to spend time figuring out how to do this.

I use it to back up my MacBook Pro drive. So far, it does everything fast and with no hiccups.

1 terrabyte of storage in a tiny, rugged aluminum housing–with a USB 3 interface–and 7200 rpm’s, this little drive is tough to beat for use in the field!
Louisa Zboncak (verified owner) –
I went for the slightly more expensive USB C interface and it seem faster.
Barton Hand (verified owner) –
Fast and very dependable.

B&H always has product, the website is easy to navigate, they get the product out, and what else can one ask? This disk drive is super fast (7200rpm), and, at USB 3.0 speed, just what we need for high performance at pretty low cost. Keep it that way!!!

Not sure what you can really say about an external HD in a review. For me, I simply don’t trust anyone else with my data than these guys. Great purchase, great price, great help from B&H. Win-win-win!

This hard drive died today, less than 4 months after I bought it. This is the first time I have used this brand and also the first time this has happened to me in over 15 years.
Elisha O’Connell (verified owner) –
Extremely reliable. I have four G-Technology external drives, no problems!

I use this as my main music hard drive. As a DJ, you need a reliable drive at all times. This drive is fast and has the capacity to keep all my music.
Beulah Roberts (verified owner) –
In my opinion, this is the best portable hard drive for the money! Better than the LaCie rugged hard drive and way more reliable. Solid construction!

I have 3 of these drives that I edit off of on my 2012 MacBook Pro. They are awesome. Super fast, big storage and small enough to transport with me. Never had a problem with them.
