A great pair of wire cutters. Cuts a clean horizontal end across the wire. The molded handles fit perfectly in your hand. Handle the molded handle does not slip in your hands when in use. Jaws close completely with out excessive pressure, tell’s me that it will cut clean from tip to bottom of cutting jaws and when I tried it, it did just that, clean cuts from tip to bottom. A great addition to any tool belt or box.

I was a little disappointed in these pliers because I was expecting that they would be able to easily cut through common pieces of wire that I have around the house. Unfortunately, as you can see in the picture, it was unable to cut through a fairly small gauge wire. I have lots of other wire about this size that I use for various projects, so was hoping that I could use these to cut those. I experimented with some electrical wire and smaller gauge wires. No problem with those. On the plus side, I liked the color-coded handles, which make them stand out among my other tools. Also, the grips are nice and solid and feel really good in my hands.

Only recently have I even heard of Gardner Bender tools. My guess these our middle of the road tools. These seven inch cutters are meant for homeowners. The tool cut cleanly and the smaller seven inch size let’s you get in tight areas. But you will lose some leverage on thicker wires. Overall the tool fits nice in the hand. And priced where if misplaced your not out big bucks. So if your looking for some wire cutters consider these.

Every DIYer needs a good pair of wire cutters. The Gardner Bender Professional Grade Diagnal Cutting Pliers will cut thin wire but not much above 12 g.This pair arrived with the tips blunted (looks more like broke off). They have a good grip for a forceful cut. These will easily nip through zip ties. I can cut aluminum solid wire and 12 gauge with some force. I could not get them to cut through 10 gauge. They snipped stranded wire easily.I used to have a pair like these, but as I’ve gotten older I need a good pair of cutters. At my age I would not buy them.

These cutters have a solid construction with a comfortable molded plastic handle. I found these very easy to use and get good leverage with the handles. The diagonal cutting surface is helpful to make close cuts and flush to the surface. I have use these mainly to cut small plastics (trimmer line, zip ties, insulation) and cuts it with ease. I also tried to trim flush small wire nails. It cut it but slightly dinged the cutting surface so that is not recommended!

First time using the Gardner Bender diagonal cutting pliers. I like the pliers and they fit and feel good in my hand. The handle has a hard plastic on them and doesn’t seem like it will ever come off. As far as the cutting edge, there does seem to be very small gaps where I can see light behind it, but don’t think it affects its ability to cut. I would buy these again. If it wasn’t for very small gap I would surely rate these a 5.

Diagonal cutters have very comfortable handles. They cut wire nicely, when I first tried cutting some stranded wire, I placed the wire close to where the blades come together, because that is where you get the most leverage (easier cutting) found that the blades edge did not got all the way to where they joined but easy fix with a file and now cut as should. Other than that small glitch they work fine and do as they are suppose to. Are nice for cleaning up jobs with small pieces needing to be cut and cleaned up.

GardnerBender Diagonal Cutting Pliers: Tool nicely balanced. Grip is padded.Tested cut on various materials. Easily cut tie wire, pipe cleaner, picture hanging wire, electrical wire, and 18 gauge galvanized steel wire with 80lb. break weight. Heavy duty chicken wire required quite a bit of pressure ( my husband managed it with strong arm). I could not sever wire coat hanger. Conclude best for light duty electrical or household use. Good for crafters.

These are light weight and fit well in your hand. The cutting edges align well with no gaps. It can be used to cut finer grades of wire with ease. I used them today to cut some plastic zip ties I’m using to repair some parts on my project car. They provided a nice sharp clean cut and made my work quick and easy. I would recommend these to those who are looking for quality tools.

The pliers are light, comfortable to grip and fit my hand easily and easily cut at tip and mid jaw. I would only use them for thinner wire, 16 Gauge or higher, such as extension cords, speaker wire, low voltage wire, etc. They produced a slight ragged cut on a single 14 Gauge electrical wire and did cut tip and mid-jaw. I could not cut through all 3 w/insulator on 14-2 w/Ground Electrical wire, even with 2 hands. This could be a factor of only being 7” pliers instead of 8” that would provide more leverage. They would cut a single 12 Gauge at mid jaw with a little more effort as expected. The jaws do not touch deep in the throat so they do not cut completely through (See Picture). This is where I would put the heavier wire that I would cut for the most leverage and ease of cutting. When choosing diagonal cutters I look for NO light between the jaws and for the jaws meeting properly. The 7” pair that I got did not meet squarely at the tip but did cross and they did not touch deep in the jaw (See picture). The Limited Lifetime Warranty was not explained anywhere on package and no insert was provided. I would recommend for light duty use but not for electrical wiring.
