Quality lineman’s pliers, especially for any DIYer. This lineman’s tool is quite and improvement over the pliers I have been using for many years. First off, it has longer handles which provide more leverage when cutting wire or pulling out a cable staple. I also love the hammer head. It worked very well for hammering Romex wire staples, even into an old pressure treated framing member. The knurled jaw provided plenty of grip for pulling wire or removing staples and the cutting blade, combined with the longer handles, made for easy, clean cutting of 12/2 Romex. The crimping jaw also worked very well.

This is one handy tool! I’m not a linesman, electrician nor any other construction-y type person, just a DIY-er/farmer/gardener who appreciates a multi function tool to make the day-to-day a little easier. One of the best features is the hammer! I can carry this one tool in my back pocket rather than lugging a box of stuff all around and get most of my little chores and jobs done. From cutting chicken wire, twisting and securing fencing, pulling and replacing nails etc. Coated grips make it easier on the hands. And to top it off, the great hammer feature on the side!

There are so many different types of linemen’s pliers on the market. I have owned quite a few different brands. There are some features on this GB pair that stand out. The actual plier portion works well when twisting wires together. There is also a place that you can use the pliers to allows you to use it to pull cable. Perhaps my favorite feature is the hammer part. I was able to drive a nail into 3/4 plywood with ease using these pliers. They are constructed well and heavy duty. My chief complaint is the wire cutter. One of the main features of a set of these pliers is to be able to cut through wire. It was extremely difficult to cut through 12/2 romex. The blades are not very sharp.

This is a good heavy plier that can last for many years. I like the part that can be used like a hammer for small nails. It feels heavy and sturdy in hand, better than many others I have which come in household repair sets. One con is it is not easy to be able to hang on a pegboard. You would need to use a magnetic one or a pocket like one so you can slide this into. Overall, good product and recommended.

First time I ever heard of this brand. The tool is five tools in one. A hammer, crimper, and also to strip the wire sheathing also cut and pull the wires. Fairly good sized tool feels good in the hand. Cuts well and even stripped the sheathing off the wire one clean pull. Probably not a tool you’ll use everyday. For the average homeowner. But having this 9 inch plier/ wire cutter in the toolbox. Gardner Bender tools will have your back.

First time ever with the Gardner Bender Armor Edge lineman pliers and needless to say its a big bump up in quality. I have had others but these are truly professional grade compared to what I’m used to. Its such a great multi tool with all the features. The hammer head is a great cheater in a pinch. They are heavy in a good way and very comfortable to use. Stripping elec wire, cutting barb wire is like butter. A really good investment for the tool bag.

This is a very good heavy duty pair of pliers. I like the grip a lot and these will definitely spare your hands when you use them for some of those tedious jobs that require a lot of stamina and wrist turning. They seem durable and easy to use and easy to control with whatever job you are using them on. The size makes them good for a number of small jobs.

I have mixed feelings about this tool. On the plus side it has some very nice design features. Those include incorporated features the top of which is a hammer face incorporated into the side of the pliers. I also like the crimper for use with crimp sleeves and the grip for when pulling a fish tape through conduit. Both the primary jaws and fish tape puller have cross hatching to provide excellent grip. The only negative which was concerning for me and the reason I hesitate to recommend the tool is cutting edge hardness. I used these pliers to cut some underground grade Romex. I include an after picture below that shows the affect it had on the cutting edge. While the insulation was hard from having been buried a few years, it was clean where I cut it, and as such I would not expect this rolling of the knife edge to occur from a single cut.

I am very picky about the tools that I own. Tools are in investment. The Gardner Bender 9 inch lineman’s pliers with hammer head is a tool I want to brag about. Starting with the construction, the hinge movement is butter smooth and the jaws are perfectly lined up. The pliers also have a fish tape puller, wire cutter and a crimper. My favorite feature has got to be the hammer head. Let’s be honest! We have all used a pair of pliers to tap down that staple or set a nail or knock off a piece of something off of something. Gardner Bender knows this and they added a cross-hatched hammer face right into the pliers! You can’t go wrong with these pliers.
