This GE Whole House Filter reduces lead, chlorine taste and odor, sediment and sand from your household water. Water is filtered down to 0.5 microns. This filter fits in GE Whole House systems GXWH50M and GXWH70M.
- Premium filter – reduces lead, chlorine taste and odor, sediment and sand
- Filters down to 0.5 microns – the lower the microns, the more contaminants are caught and reduced
- NSF/ANSI standard 42 – certified by IAPMO R and T against NSF/ANSI standard 42 in models GXWH50M and GXWH70M for the reduction claims specified on the performance data sheet
- Compatible with select GE whole home filtration systems, including GXWH70M and GXWH50M
- Three-month filter life – For best filtration results, filters should be replaced every three months or 15,000 Gal.

Well we though after reading the descriptions online…….we can do this it sounds so simple. After getting the product I’m not going to say that there are people more knowledgeable than us. Our major concern come when we are doing plumbing or electric on those aspect we tend to call our amazing plumber Brian in this case. Our home is from the 50’s and he is doing some great updates so what is one more can’t wait to use this as our son has psoriatic arthritis so we are hoping this will help.

I can only speak to initial impressions, and not long term use or lifespan (as we’ve only been using this filter for about 2 weeks now). I am very happy with the filtration level and performance – we’ve noticed a considerable improvement in our drinking water. I am mildly impressed with the quality of the filter as well, usually a filter in this price range has an overall “cheap” feel to it but this one is solidly constructed with good materials and fitment all around. It fit into the housing snug without requiring too much force, or with too much slop. I remain hopeful about the lifespan, as we haven’t been using it long enough to comment on that. I think you’ll be pleased with this filter.

This is a very high quality filter that can remove contaminants as small as .5 microns. The cartridge is designed to be used in the GE Whole House Filtration System, GXWH70M. Probably the only thing wrong with it is that for the price it has a relatively short life: 15,000 gallons or 3 months. I did not recommend the filtration system (made in China), but if you have it, this is the best cartridge you can buy. The cartridge is made in USA.

Works well, instruction for connecting to WiFi is incomplete and difficult. I like that you can turn the water off remotely, but it doesn’t detect low water flow and that is disappointing. We are using the premium filter and the water flow is fine and the water tastes good

I have very hard well water that gets a smell at times. It has worked awesome for our needs. We also put one on our RV at a park that had very bad tasting and smelly water and it cleared the smell up and made the water drinkable. I definitely recommend!

Got this new Premium whole house replacement filter recently. The the filtration system did not come with a filter with it, so am lucky to have this filter ordered along with the system itself.This filter doesn’t filter high sediment water (like well water or muddy waters or visibly dirty water) but works only on tap water which is mostly pure except for possible pesticides, chlorine etc which this filter purifies

This is the companion filter the GE Smart whole house filter system. This is the premium filter or the top tier version that reduces lead, chlorine taste and odor, sediment and sand. So far in use the the whole house system it works well at a 4 gallon per minute rate. The water tastes better, hard to tell yet about reduction in sediment and sand but will watch the aerators over time. Wish it lasted longer than three months.

I made the mistake of buying this premium filter when I have well water. It catches so much that the water couldn’t get through after a week.
