The filtration system uses a carbon spun-fiber filtering method, and is able to reduce chlorine taste, lead, cysts and VOC’s. Compatible with filters FXUTC, FXULC and FXUVC (all sold separately).

I bought 2 and installed them in tandem using a brass fitting .Used 2 different filter cartridges to cover all filtering situations , although we are in the top ten percentile of filtered municipal water here in Jupiter , FL.Ice cubes are crystal clear and water taste is excellent .

I have used this filter for over 12 years now without issue. I am now installing a second one in the sink I added in the basement. I use the first Black bucket of water for my plants. I have had no issues other than it is difficult to take apart without a lot of Vaseline when putting it together. I have heard that high-pitched noise twice ( I use the FXULC filters regularly) mentioned in another review after changing the filter and it is annoying but went away after about a week. I figured a long time user’s review would be helpful here. On the other hand, 12 years ago some stuff was made better than today so it’s hard to tell how the second one will compare after I install it. We love our get filtered water.

We bought this because we don’t like the taste of city water and hated having a “brita” type product in the fridge for filter drinking water. This filter was easy to install and has lasted a long time. The one in our kitchen works great and the filter has lasted over a year without us noticing a change in water taste. The filter does slow down the water pressure a bit and this gets worse the longer you wait to change the filter, but it hasn’t motivated us to replace the filter until just now. Will update post if have change of opinion after filter replacement this weekend.

I use this filter housing a lot. Some times the threads are tight, soI use vasoline to lubricate them. Doesn’t Come with a wrench like some others do
