I did NOT want a “dual stage” that would require two filter replacements every 6 months so I am very pleased to have found this at Home Depot. Be aware the the cheap plastic piece will cross thread if not put on correctly. My son in law found out real quick. You have to order them through GE. Other than that it works great on the nasty Alabama water.

As another review says, there is a small valve built in that is to shut off water while replacing the filter. The tip of the push valve is pushed back up by a bump on the new filter. After just a few filter changes the valve would no longer open and no water just loud buzz noise. This only took about 5 changes to happen. If you happy with changing the whole unit out every two years or so, this is for you.

We bought this to replace an existing under sink water filter. It was easy to install and works great. I just wish it had better water pressure. It runs a little slow for my liking.

I normally don’t bother, but recently, after 8 years my dual filter faucet started to leak. After 8 years! Not bad I say. I started searching for an exact replacement (not exact, since they changed the design since I bought mine. I know because I we were all so happy with the first one we decided to buy another one for the basement bar). I ended up learning I cant buy it anymore. Then I have noticed two almost identical negative reviews from 5 years ago and I decided to share my own experience. Please have in mind that it is just my own personal experience. I will be buying the single stage now, since the only thing I need is a faucet, so I will use the faucet with my existing dual system that I have and really enjoy.I don’t know about all the PPM’s and stuff like that, but I like the taste of my water and I haven’t smell chlorine ever since I have installed it.I hope that helps.

Instructions for installation need to be cleaned up for us DIYers. I never experienced any water flow problems like I read from previous posts. 4 sec. to fill a 16 oz. bottle. Make sure you take your water filter off before installing,otherwise you will struggle getting it off to install a new one. Factory turns them on very tight. I had to remove the entire filter attachment to get it off. For the price it works super. No chlorine taste and no floaties. I would recommend this. Thanks Home Depot and enjoy all you DIYers
