Purchased to replace an R/O system. Performs as expected. Great design, good flow rate, removes chlorine taste effectively. Easy to install.Downside: cheap plastic parts, particularly water line parts.

The first one installed leaked from a seam in the filter cartridge holder, so I had to remove and return for a new one. Thankfully, it is very easy to install, but a hassle to drive back to HD to replace. Worked well with decent flow rate albeit, slower on the filtered side. This is a blessing in disguise, since you have to manually turn the know back to unfiltered water when you are done and it’s easy to forget. It would be nice if would spring loaded to auto return to unfiltered when when the water is turn off. Filter are very easy to change. Would have have rated it a 4 w/o the leak and the manual valve…and a 5 if in addition, the flow rate was the same as unfiltered flow.

Installed at my little cabin on the plains. Inline installation was a breeze, very straight forward. Came with everything I needed parts-wise. Installation took about an hour for my application. I noticed the difference quickly. Water coming out of faucet was clearer and tasted better! I realize that is was a water filtration system is supposed to do, but for the price, I was pretty impressed.

Great deal compared to competitors, and an easy install. Color coded lines made it simple enough for an novice installer.

I installed this one myself under my work sink. It only took me 1/2 an hour. Mostly I use it for my plants. It removes a lot of the junk that is in the city water that I don’t want going to my indoor veggies in the winter. It sure beats waiting for the brita pitcher to filter through and then refill over and over all day long until I have enough water for everything!

Overall this works well and install was straightforward. The video tutorial available on the Home Depot site and app was very helpful. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the volume of water flow is more restricted than I expected.

This is my second under sink filter system. Reason we need filtration is to clarify the water to remote particulates. This requires at least a two cartridge system since the smaller on-faucet filters will clog too quickly. We have a stainless steel sink with a third hole that used to hold a sprayer. Our previous filter system was also from GE and had a tap that mounted in the third hole–and the tap base was too small to stay firmly mounted over the hole. Nevertheless, we used it for several years until the tap mount problem got too annoying. I thought that the switching valve was a better idea and my wife also prefers it. The switching valve base is wider and doesn’t slip off its mount.I had no difficulty installing the switching valve system. Flow rate was good. This unit worked well for 6 months without significant clogging. After six months, the system timer then starting blinking as it should, to remind me to get replacement filters. I didn’t have to buy more filters since the valve stem fractured a day later. This meant that the switching valve was stuck in one position. I had to buy another whole unit. Fortunately, GE has a 1-year defect warranty on the hardware and the local Big Orange Box store refunded my purchase price for the first unit with no questions asked. It’s a decent product at a relatively low price but I’m deducting two stars because I just don’t think that this design is robust enough. The valve stem is plastic and I think it won’t last.

Installation was easy – the color system for water lines makes this a snap. I liked the switching control knob design for selection water. The plastic plumbing fittings keep the cost down and simplify installation – but I was afraid I’d strip the threads in the two threaded connections there are. If I changed anything – it would be THOSE two connections – maybe something a little more substantial like brass/stainless.Also be careful with the mounting screws for the unit and the battery monitor. They’re a tad long – and if mounting to your 3/4″ cabinets there’s a chance you’re going to poke through the other side.

I bought this product from one Home Depot store only to notice that the box was already open & not sealed at all! I anyway purchased it only to notice during installation that it was missing some parts !When I enquired about it with folks on the floor, nobody knew the reason. They simply suggested that I return it! So I returned the product, went to another Home Depot, found similar open box!! again!! But anyway still went ahead & bought it as I badly needed a water filter. Thankfully this time it was not missing any installation parts!

Purchased for bathroom remodel as local water company shocks frequently with chlorine. Filter works perfectly and flow rate is very similar to not-filtered. As vanity had 2 sinks I installed the filter without the diverter, so sink on left is filtered water all the time and sink on right is not.

We had it installed by plumber during kitchen remodel, one year ago. We are very satisfied with the system and the taste of the water. Very easy to maintain and change out filters.

PUrchased this water filter system for a new kitchen that I had installed in my home. There seemed to be a lot of worked involved to hook it up (too many parts), so I returned it back to Home Depot and ordered a Culligan under sink water filter system which was easier to install. For me I just wanted the filtered water for my pets water bowl or for making coffee and the Culligan system was sufficient for that. The GE system was to allow the water that flows through the faucet to be filtered and I really didn’t need that much water filtered.

The installation was easy. No doubt about that. It works as advertised. I have noticed a weird smell in our sink as of late. I cleaned it out and even flushed the garbage disposal with vinegar just to get rid of the smell. It turns out it’s the smell of the filtered water. Two glasses side by side, one with filtered and one without filtered, and the filtered water has a very odd smell to it. It almost makes me gag. Not sure what the cause is and what this is actually doing to our water. Wish I could get a refund.
