The GE 31,100-Grain Water Softener System enhances the quality of water throughout your home for cleaner dishes, less water-heater scale buildup and potential energy savings. It has 95 GPG. maximum hardness-removal capacity and it also removes 3 PPM of iron. Handy features include programmable operation and a permanent memory in case the power goes out. This water softener even adapts to your usage patterns to help ensure you have soft water when you need it.

We’ve had this for over 2 months now and has worked great. Have not had to refill it yet with salt. We probably have at least another month or 2 before we would need to refill the machine. So only having to do this 3-4 times a year is no big deal. Very easy installation and this is coming from a very non handyman. Only issue I have is the one we seem to have received, the lid doesn’t close all the way and seems to be a bit warped but doesn’t affect the efficiency of the softener.

Only had it for 14 months and the control panel stopped working. None of the buttons work now so I can’t change any settings. For something this expensive that is unacceptable. Also, good luck with GE’s customer service. They tried to tell me I purchased it a year earlier than I did so they wouldn’t have to honor the warranty. They said its based off the manufacture date not the purchase date. That’s a first! Expect long hold times and a lot of transfers between departments.In regards to how it works softening my hard Phoenix water it’s been great. Our faucets don’t get the hard water deposits anymore and thats a big deal here. I had to replace my kitchen sink twice in 4 years prior to getting this.
