Relatively easy to set up and straight-forward wifi/app config (assuming you’ve done wifi setup for other appliances/devices) – took me all of 20 minutes once the plumbing was done, to fill it with salt, go through the setup, and kick off the first recharge. I’d expect a few more features from the app (history/logging of usage and recharges), but it is helpful when you’re away from home to give you insight into what your plumbing is doing (i.e. shows water usage for the day, valve status (if you use it) and estimates how many days of salt are left). Water softener itself seems pretty solid physically and has been 100% reliable – so much so that I haven’t even given it much thought. I have extremely hard water (35-41 grains) and it does a great job – not sure what it is after the softener, but no noticeable scaling, water tastes much better (and not salty), and isn’t overly “slippery”.

Installing the soft water maker was the best idea we ever did for the house, the water is super clear now and you can tell that the soft water maker is working, i really like the large pellet capacity so no need to fill up with salt all the time, it looks clean not bulky and the wifi ability to monitor it is a very nice feature.

So so, poor install instructions, but I am handy and figured it out, for almost anyone without ever having done any plumbing of anykind, impossible.Wifi does not work as of yet, so it does not I would revert to two stars.Water quality will take a while to see.

Plumber took few hours to install and it is working great. There was a glitch though when the power supply had a broken pin and had to be replaced. GE took a while to ship, they should have done quality check on this basic thing. Happy with this overall..

I bought this water softener mainly for the Wi-Fi remote features. It replaced a 10 year old water softener. I have no problem to install it by myself but it requires you to buy an a 1″ MNPT nipple for connecting the remote shutdown valve. The instructions manual doesn’t show you how to setup Wi-Fi and the app you have to call an 800 number, but a technical service person assisted me with no waiting time. IN 10 minutes, I completed the Wi-Fi and app setup.

The softener is well built and works as expected. I especially like the feature that allows me to adjust the back wash and rinse times because without those, the water tastes salty. I set both to 7 minutes and no more salty taste. Also, immediately after I connected my new softener, the water had a strong chemical taste. I adjusted the rinse and backwash to maximum and ran a couple of regeneration cycles and that solved the problem – apparently the beads aren’t cleaned during the manufacturing process. I recommend they put a warning at the front of the manual – so it is part of the setup – describing this problem and its solution.

I have been using the softener for about 6 weeks. So far so good. Easy to install and operate. I like how the salt level usage adjusted itself after learning the amount of water we use. The days left of salt adjusted itself. Very happy with the unit and the app in the phone is easy to use.
