Installed the system oh, way back in 2005. Have never had any problems with it other than a bit of irritation when removing and replacing cartridge – they go in tight and come out tighter! But they work very well. The 6-month indicator light is still on the original battery!!

This filter was easy to install and it is easy to change the filter. I am using it in conjunction with a Britta faucet filter. With both filters the water taste is close to that of my RO filter. I am also using this water in my aquarium. It is clean enough to use as is without chemically treating the water.

This product works well, and fileter is easily changed. Ordering and shipping where expidited quickly. However, one of the four fittings to connect water sources is a compression fitting. This can be a failure point as with plastic tubing the compression fitting can squeese out. However the push on fittings for attachment to the faucet and filter itself are great and the easiest part of installation. I highly recommend chaning the compression to a push on with standard 3/8 femal thread to fit the standard angle stop.

I bought this filter to replace a faucet-mount type that I have never really had success with – either they leak or they simply fall off when bumped. That got annoying very quickly, and the lost space under the faucet didn’t help. I did not want (or didn’t have room for) a filtration unit with a separate faucet, so I decided on one of the full-flow units. I picked this one because I figured the filters would be readily available at Home Depot (they are). The unit itself is solid and the filtered water is as good as or better than my “top of the line” Pur faucet-mount. My only complaint with this unit is the installation. On the unit itself, there are 3/8″ OD push-to-connect fittings. It comes with 6′ of the appropriate PEX tubing. GE includes a 1/2″ FIP to 3/8″ OD push-to-connect fitting along with the unit, which is brilliant because all you have to do is thread the fitting onto your existing faucet stem and push the tubing in (I love Sharkbite-type fittings and all of their variants).Great. That’s half the installation right there. What GE instructs you to do for the other half is create a compression joint with the tubing, which is difficult to do leak-free. Ideally, you would use one of the pre-cut ends on the tubing (not your own cut, which almost certainly won’t be straight). I did this, and it still leaked. Something about a plastic tubing insert, a plastic ferrule, and PEX tubing just didn’t work. The joint never seemed tight and leaked when under pressure.Fortunately, I had planned ahead and picked up another fitting (Watts PL-3027) for this purpose. It is 1/2″ MIP to 3/8″ OD push-to-connect, so what I ended up doing was using my existing braided line to connect to the fitting (thus allowing the use of the rubber cone washer inside the supply line) and then the rest of the install was just push-to-connect from that fitting to the filter housing. Everything worked fine after that. It’s a longer hose run and it creates an additional joint, but I have a lot more faith in these joints than I do in a homemade PEX compression joint. There’s also the added benefit that should I need to change the connection, I can easily reconnect with my existing supply line. All in all, I’d recommend it because for the price and the filter capacity (2,000 gallons versus 100 for a filter mount) you can’t go wrong. It takes up very little space under the sink so that shouldn’t be an issue. The only issue is as stated above – get a fitting (make sure you get the right one!) so you can use your existing braided line and avoid making your own compression joint.

I live in a rural area on a well. While this is simply a cold water line filter, I ended up purchasing two. One for kitchen and one for bath. The water is soooo much better now.

Plastic hoses (included) just push into filter body. Fittings for connecting to cold water and faucet are also included. I had to buy a “T” as I used this to filter water to the refrigerator (even though it comes with a filter, this helps keep the 1/4″ copper line to the refrigerator stay clean). Easy install good price!

It’s a good product for a good price. But the installation was more complicated than we originally thought.

Disclaimer: I have only had this installed for an hour.My wife and I moved into a new house on a well which has a low/moderate amount of hydrogen sulfide which bothered my wife. I bought this to try and get rid of some of the smell and it worked wonders! I will take one star off for installation though. Nether of the connection options listed in the directions (And more importantly the fittings that came with the filter) worked for my faucet so I needed to buy a few extra odds and ends. The hoses were also very hard to get fully inserted. The out line went in well enough but the in line took quite a bit of force and time before stopping this leak that dripped out of it.All in all would absolutely recommend.
