A clear sump allows easy viewing of the filter to monitor its condition and a canister wrench is included for easy filter changes. I have copper plumbing so cleaning up the old copper so it will take solder was a job. The rest of the installation went smooth. Filter seems to be a good one and is doing what it is supposed to do.

Easy to install to the main line, working well; surprised how much “gunk” is in the city water supply.

Easy to install!I really appreciate the bypass options built into this filter, so I can replace the filter cartridge without turning off water to the whole house. The only down side is that the little reminder light it comes with doesn’t seem to be working properly. I have reached out to GE and am awaiting a response. This doesn’t affect the operation of the unit, just requires me to track when the filter needs to be replaced.

This housing is SO MUCH BETTER than the housing of another popular brand it replaced. Here are just a few of the features I like that you don’t find on other units:-Bypass/off valve: This saves you from having to install a bypass loop-Clear housing so you can see how dirty your filter is-Clear housing so you can see how well your filter fits as your installing it-An O-Ring that fits-Hand-tightens with no leaksIt also has some electronic thing with a battery. I haven’t messed with that yet, but it’s probably cool too.

How does GE sell a water filter without a filter? This is bullsh.t!!!! I cant say how good it works for a few months because its just being hooked up now

Very large filter unit (I wanted that). Pretty great flow. Only downside is that a new filter was not included in the package with the housing, so it ended up being rather expensive. Plumber had no problem installing it, either.

This filter system was easy to install. I have only had it for a month so I can’t say to much about it, except that has very little head loss and it doesn’t leak.

Installation was straight forward. Very little loss in water pressure. My only recommendation is to tell people not to use teflon tape, but a liquid sealer. Threads are too big for tape to seal.

Researched on-line found it to be exactly what I needed. It was easy to install (I had my plumber do it) with my new GE Water Softener. I’m glad I was able to find this filter and the water softener as GE Appliances.

So far I’m happy with the system – it seems fairly easy to change the filter.

Filter was easy to install with basic knowledge. It has not hurt water pressure but will as the filter does its job. Its already showing discoloration on the filter after 2 days. We have very poor water. I feel that I should state it is not being used as whole house. Only filtering water into the water heater as it was collecting a lot of dirt? or rust? or algae? Again poor water.

Good replacement for whirlpool whole home filter. Easy to install. While installing the GE product I Had a leak on outflow side of it. I put lots of Teflon tape and it took care of the problem. I didnt need to return it to Home Depot. I like this product because you can bypass the filter if needed

Excellent

Works well so far. However, changing the filter is awful. You have to relieve the pressure manually which spews water out the side. Then the canister is still full of water and if the o-ring is off any when you screw it back in it won’t seal tight enough. Plus, the filter is only good for 3 months.

Working great so far. You need to buy a filter as it doesn’t come with one. Wasn’t obvious on the box.

Great for my entire home

Easy to install and much easier to operate. I personally recommend the replacement FXHTC to go along with it.

I like the clear canister so you can see the buildup and determine if it’s time to change the cartridge.
