The GE Heavy-Duty Household Water Filtration System reduces sand, sediment and rust from your main water supply. It is a high-flow system with a 40 psi – 100 psi feed water-pressure tolerance. A clear sump allows easy viewing of the filter to monitor its condition and a canister wrench is included for easy filter changes. A bypass valve helps increase filter life when filtered water is not needed. This quick-connect system comes with hardware and an installation kit. It is NSF certified for safety and reliability.

The GE whole house filtration system is 3 inches wider at its water line connection points and 1 1/2 inch longer meaning it will not fit the location where my old water filter is now connected. It will take considerable effort to modify the water lines on either side of the housing for this filtration system to be installed and allow the replacement of filters.

Install was easy once I figured out how I wanted to do it. Does not come with a filter cartridge, so you can choose which style you want. Instantly tasted the difference in the water, which was kind of sad for me, as I really liked the taste before, but hopefully this will help extend the lifespan of our appliances along with the water softener I installed at the same time.

I have been using 2 of this model for many years, one for my irrigation and one for the house water, both in the garage. Unfortunately the outer container cracked and do I needed to replace it. I bought a whole new one but now I am thinking I should have tried to but the part.

We had this installed by a plumber. Took him just over 1 hour and he had no problems. The filter works great. We didn’t have hard water so this replaced the water conditioner. However we had some sediment from our well so the filter was the solution.

So far, so good. It’s been installed for about 3 weeks now and already dirt, sediment, etc., shows in the filter. It’s doing its job! No drop in water pressure throughout the house either. Built a removable, semi-open enclosure around it to keep the sun off of it. Certainly happy so far!

Bought along with a new water softener, figured it was worth the investment to help protect the softener. Fairly easy to install, i would have preferred to invert the mounting bracket so that it does not show but due to the design the bracket mounting screws would hit the filter housing.One issue with the install, had extremely minor leaks on both fittings when installed. Followed directions exactly and had to further tighten the fittings. tightening the fittings into the plastic housing is a little unnerving, leaks appear to have stopped but will be keeping an eye on it for awhile.
