Description
The GE Heavy-Duty Household Water Filtration System reduces sand, sediment and rust from your main water supply. It is a high-flow system with a 40 psi – 100 psi feed water-pressure tolerance. A clear sump allows easy viewing of the filter to monitor its condition and a canister wrench is included for easy filter changes. A bypass valve helps increase filter life when filtered water is not needed. This quick-connect system comes with hardware and an installation kit. It is NSF certified for safety and reliability.

This isn’t so easy to hook up your self because it has to connect to the pipe line so you’ll have to get a handyman or a plumber, but once it’s hooked up it works great my water is so much better than it was before and I am really happy homedepo has this equipment.

The engineering is lacking. Gasket seal difficult to find. Bypass valve works great when new, but tends to bind up after a period of use. There has to be a better way.

I had the GE GXWH40L whole filter installed one six months ago am very satisfied. I am using 5 micron filters that I replace every 90 days. My Municipal water supply is very hard and includes iron and calcium. The water is treated and potable but I don’t trust it. It requires softening and the iron content is high. The filter is installed before the softener. Since adding the whole house filter, iron and calcium buildup at faucets and toilets has been greatly reduced and iron ring build up in the toilets is minimal. I had the whole house filter installed after remodeling three bathrooms and pleased with the results. All bathroom fixtures are new and wearing well.
