Description
The GE Heavy-Duty Household Water Filtration System with filter included reduces sand, sediment and rust from your main water supply. It is a high-flow system with a 40 psi – 100 psi feed water-pressure tolerance. A clear sump allows easy viewing of the filter to monitor its condition and a canister wrench is included for easy filter changes. A bypass valve helps increase filter life when filtered water is not needed. This quick-connect system comes with hardware and an installation kit. It is NSF certified for safety and reliability.

I’m annoyed that the Parts List sheet (separate from the owners manual) included parts (fittings) that were not in the package. When I called GE they said those parts are not included.

Anybody with half a brain would know that you need to mount this higher than any faucet or hose bib or sprinkler in your house and your yard. Love the clear so you can see when it’s time to change

Installation was not difficult. Make a point of getting at least two of the mounting bracket screws into a wall stud for a secure installation. The clear filter housing and the 3-position valve (Filter-Bypass-Off) are two attractive features. I installed two filters in parallel using 3/4″ pipe for maximum water flow. Also, note that I installed a 200 micron sediment trap on the incoming side to trap sand which is a problem in my area.

I used this same filter in my last house and it worked great. No leaks, nothing broke, just had to replace filter cartridge when required. Had it installed for probably 15 year before selling. So now I’ve installed the same filter in my new place. So far, same story. No leaks, nothing broken (yet). Doing exactly what I need it to do.
