The Profile Reverse Osmosis Filtration system is a premium filtration process. It has an extra-large 8.46 Gal. capacity per day. The system includes a chrome faucet, pre-and-post filters (FQROPF), membrane (FQROMF), storage tank, filter reminder light and full installation kit included.

I suppose I was afraid the installation would be too difficult, but really, I don’t know how they could have made it any easier. The instructions were clear and easy to understand, and everything worked exactly as expected. I had one question about the indicator light not flashing during normal operation, and the customer service person I reached told me the instructions I got were for a different model, so this was normal. The water is fantastic. No more lugging bottles to fill, only to find the machine at the store is out of service again. Glad I didn’t wait any longer. Going to get one for my daughter’s home too, and in the meantime, she can fill her bottles at our house.

In general I agree with RxJason’s comments. I bought this unit to replace a ten year old GE unit which had failed (knowing what I know now, it likely only needed replacement air in the storage tank). It wasn’t until I got to the page on start-up that I realized I had no “sanitation cartridges”. Since my previous unit did not have them I did not think to look for some. Memo to GE: The very first thing your manual should do is indicate all the parts that should be in the box. GE is sending me the missing items. Since the box had not been resealed it appears this was a factory error. As RxJason indicated, the 1/4 inch black drain tube was extremely difficult to attach. I finally heated the tube a bit. The faucet is also a bit wobbly. Not the best of designs. The old faucet, while not as fancy, was much sturdier. My LED monitor also did not work. GE sent an authorized dealer to check out the installation (at my expense if my problem). Well, the installation was correct but the monitor was faulty. It would have been less expensive to just send me a new one. All in all not a bad product but could use some improvement.

For four people family I have to change filters every quarter. It is not possible to use inserts longer, because they plug to point of water not running any more (it was not a case in previous generation of revers osmosis filters). Also, generic filters can’t be used – only manufacturers brand (they are expensive). Fountain mounted on the sink wobble no matter how many times you try to mount it (there is only one very small set screw holding it). Other than this system is easy to maintain and quality of filtrated water is great. I would recommend it only if you packets are bit dipper than averege.
