Adding to the diverse line of GEARWRENCH ratchets, the new slim head ratchets are available in 1/4 in. drive in a 6 in. and 12 in. L handles. They feature a flush mounted forward/reverse lever and a 72-tooth ratcheting mechanism giving the user a 45° ratchet arc to enable turning fasteners in tight confines. The head converts from a ratchet to a bit driver with the removal of the ratchet adapter. Also available in the slim head ratchet line is a 45-piece set that includes both ratchets, extensions, adapters, 10 metric sockets and a 30-piece bit set.

Nice kit. Smooth action on the ratchet and the bits stay in place in the ratchet while in use. The case seems sturdy enough for light-duty use, but I’m not sure I would trust it to stay closed if carrying it clipped to the belt.

Performing as expected. Would be good to know in specifications the total hight of rachet + bit. As it turns out, I had to do more research online to find a tool that fit into the narrow space needed.

Maybe mine is defective but a few of my bits (namely the 5/16s end) were *really* hard to insert and require a stab from the other end to remove. the 5/16s socket adapter specifically is near impossible to remove without another tool. As such, i can’t recommend this as a daily/frequently used tool but if you need to occasionally use this to build some furniture or whatever, the inconvenience of dislodging a seldom used bit is nowhere near the inconvenience of using those terrible Allen Keys they provide with stuff.

I am not sure if this is really out of the box thinking or Gearwrench’s “if the only tool you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail,” but this is one of my favorite tools. I have several sets and have given them as gifts often.The set includes nearly every driver you’ll need, though I have added a few extra drivers, metric hex, Posi-Driv, longer drives for recessed fasteners, etc. If you lose or wear one out, standard off-the-shelf driver bits fit.Great torque, speedy removal and insertion of fasteners. Press on the back for force to hold the bit in place for worn fastener heads, and thumb-wheels for speedy removal or starting threaded fasteners straight.For the price, I don’t even think you could buy the 35 different drivers and sockets individuallyI love this tool. If I could only have one screwdriver, this would be it. There’s not a day in the shop or at work where I don’t use it.

Well Gearwrench isnt my favorite tool company. But i am really surprised at this set. Mainly for the 2ratchets. The long one is great guessing 72 tooth. With builtin spinner. Super thin and a locking flex head are a great feature. I have over stressed it several times now and no issues! I just may have to try some more Gearwrench tools
