If this GEARWRENCH 51 piece is as good as it looks, it will compete with the best of the name brands (you know the ones that I am talking about) that have a high quality chrome finish. When you read what the SAE/METRIC SOCKET set contains, and the features like only a 3 degree swing arc and the “off corner loading” and little features like the “engraved markings on the sockets and a thumb wheel ratchet and the size range from 3/16 to 9/16” and 4mm to 15mm, what more could you ask for in a standard and deep well socket set? I now will be able to quit holding onto all the piecemeal socket sets I have acquired over the years!

Perfect set for those tight spots. This 1/4″ set is perfect for any savvy DIY’er. The size is perfect for those hard to get spots without compromising the quality. The entire set is labeled clearly and the case is a nice addition where everything fits tight and compact. The chrome finish is nice and the quality can hang in there with all the other brand names. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is for the lack of a quick release. Otherwise, its flawless. Everything you need is right here. Its a good bang for the buck!

Perfect for tight spaces. Look at the pictures showing the size of the ratchet. Its very short. 5 inches from end to end. The teeth on the ratchet are also very small. 3 degree arc. I have been looking for a deep socket set so this fits the bill. You can always use another 1/4 inch rachet with a longer handle when needed. the sockets themselves appear to be of good quality. No issues when testing on standard bolts on my truck. Large easy to read numbers! The palm ratchet is a nice bonus. Made of solid plastic with metal guts so you can torque it without worrying about it breaking. reversible lever is very smooth. Perfect for getting nuts started. switch to the ratchet for final tightening. Numbers are embossed into the case. pretty large and easy to read in good light. Black on black. The latch and hinges on the case appear to be sturdy.

Ordered this set for the hubby, and wasn’t disappointed! He’s forever misplacing sockets here and there and then trying to use metric for non-metric and vice versa! This set will help him (hopefully) keep all of his sockets in one place and keep all of his metric set together. They are nice quality, it is a good size selection for most projects and comes in a nice, solid case.

After using this socket set I can tell you they will compete (performance and price-wise) with ALL the top name brands. Same lifetime warranty as all the others but it’s the little extras that count: Compact, neat, and well labelled plastic carrying case. Clean, chrome polished socket sets. Engraved sizes right on the sockets. Low-profile ratchet with extensions and universal joint. This is the best, most complete set of 1/4 drive sockets I’ve ever owned (and I have owned them all). As a former master certified automotive tech, I assure your complete satisfaction with this product.

Great tool if you need to get into a small space where a ratchet won’t go.

This was the first GW sockets & ratchets I bought a month ago, it is now my go to set for 1/4 drive. I just ordered the 3/8 set, can’t wait for it to arrive. I will be ordering a 1/2 set in the next couple weeks. I have numerous brand high end truck ratchets and the 120xp’s blow all of them away hands down!

Compact set of 1/4″ drive SAE and Metric sockets. Fifty-one pieces of both standard and deep socket sets. This set is great for the smaller jobs like tearing down and rebuilding a carb, or working on a bicycle. Very nice chromed hardened metal. It has a doubled lined and knurled line to make the sockets distinctive betwee SAE and Metric. The case is a very sturdy blow molded plastic with locking clips. Seems to be of very high quality for the entire set. It also has a palm driver for tight spaces.

I ordered the set from the Home Depot website. They sent me a text when it was ready and I hopped in my truck and drove straight there like an excited little girl on Christmas morning. From first glance it looked like someone had came all over the sockets. But anywho, great set for the price!!

I am very satisfied with this tools; first, because they have sizes that I could not find in other brands and second, because they go along great with my other tools which leads me to successfully complete my tasks.

This is a good set of deep sockets to be used with primarily smaller bolts/nuts. There are two rachet wrenches provided and the larger one is just over 5” long which doesn’t allow for a lot of leverage and has a low-profile head, allowing for improved access. The smaller wrench is actually a shape that I haven’t come across previously, that is round and has six places for fingers to grip it. I can get a thumb and three fingers around it and get a good grip. Neither wrench has a quick disconnect and getting the sockets disconnected from the wrench can be challenging. The sockets are clearly marked with numbers that are easily read and the storage location has large numbers as well. There won’t be any question which socket goes into what slot! There are SAE and Metric sockets in the set. There’s also a six-inch and a two-inch drive extension as well as a universal joint to help get the socket into tight places. The final comment I have concerns the black, blow mold case. As previously mentioned, the interior of the case has excellent labeling for the sockets. In my opinion, the case needs to have a handle to make carrying it much easier. The two latches require more force than I consider necessary. I can understand the why, however. I’d hate to have to chase the 51 components it contains.

i got this exact set and first time use ended with broken tabs, i cant latch it closed anymore… other than the case latches breaking the very first time i used them it is a great set. but i bought them to have a small set i can quickly grab and take with me.

This is a good quality set of tools. I purchased to replace a craftsman 1/4 inch drive mismatched set of sockets and ratchet. Both sockets and ratchet are by far better than my craftsman which is older USA made stuff!! Would definitely buy again!!

Main reason I bought these was for the shallow broach (nuts won’t fall to the end of the socket). I wish I could buy this set in metric only to get a smaller case with the universal joint included. The quality seems good and the sockets feel heavier I think because of the shallow broach.

This is the handiest kit a mechanic or homeowner can purchase in my book. I just purchased my second 1/4″ drive socket set to keep at the house. I have owned this particular set for a couple of years with no issues. I use it for small items on my semi, from the motor to the interior. No issues with the case, it is rock solid, tools are solid and the ratchet is just the right size for most uses and is incredibly smooth in operation with its 120 teeth. For what it is worth, if you are looking for a high quality 1/4″ set, this is hard to beat in regards to price and quality, I wish Home Depot carried GearWrench tools in the stores. :-(On a side note, I also own the GearWrench 3/8″ and 1/2″ sets, same quality and worth a look if you are in need of these sets too.
