You really cannot beat GearWrench for value to quality ratio you get with their tools and this 1/4″ drive SAE bit set is no different. Includes the most common smaller size SAE hex bits press fitted into chrome socket adapters that hold them firmly in place. In use, hex bits are true to stated size with no slop or rounding of the fastener being removed so long as you are using the properly square on the fastener.

The GearWrench 1/4 in. Drive SAE Hex Bit Socket Set (10-Piece) Model # 80323 is a 10 piece set of S.A.E. Hex bits ranging from 1/16 in. thru 1/4 in. graduating in increments of 1/32 inches. The bits are mounted in corrosion resistant chrome plated sockets with heat treated bases. Included in this set is a slide rail for socket storing and size identification. The slide rail can be permanently installed in a drawer of your Rollaway. I like how the set keeps the bits neatly organized eliminating the chaos of searching for the right size allen wrench. GearWrench supports their product with a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

The gear wrench hex bit socket set. This 10 piece set is a great set because it is the smaller hex bits that some times are hard to find. It is nice to have a set with all of the the hex bits together in one set. Hex bits aren’t needed too often but it is nice to have them right there when you have a project or job that needs a hex bit socket it comes in handy. This set definitely met expectations.

The are high quality sockets. I can tell these are machined to tight tolerances by the way they fit on some very expensive socket head cap screws. I like GearWrench because they hold up better to high usage than any other brand in the same price category. I also like that these are a 10 piece set. That covers all of the sizes I encounter. I cannot find anything wrong with this set. These are a great buy.

GearWrench 1/4 in. Drive SAE Hex Bit Socket Set (10-Piece) This SAE socket set includes a sturdy plastic socket retention storage bar. This socket set includes ten hex bits sockets. Starting with 1/16”. 5/64”/ 3/32”, 7/74”, 1/8”, 9/64”, 5/32”, 3/16”. 7/32”, through ¼” Hex bit sockets. The size of the hex bits is engraved on the side of each bit however is it not readable for most people without magnification. Yes, I am aware the sockets are ¼ drive and small. Having fine line fractional numbers etching inside a 3/16” tall Hexagon does not make easy viewing by most people. Newer designs are now black sockets with easy to read numbers is white.

Great Hex Bit Socket Set! Just solidly crafted. This set is an alternative to the typical Allen wrench. The set comes in 10 pieces, ranging from 1/16 inch to 1/4 inch, all SAE standard. The socket driver fits 1/4 inch, all finished in chrome. You could use these bits along with power tool drill. The set could be mounted on the wall for easy access. Each socket has a slide rail for ease of storage. Overall, this is a great set for your workshop.

Sometimes you just need the speed and convenience of of using a ratchet (or even power drive) for socket-head fasteners. I’ve owned a metric-sized set of 3/8″ hex bit sockets for years, and they see plenty of use. While I don’t expect to push this 1/4″ set of SAE bits quite as hard, I was pleased to see that GearWrench did not skimp on the quality – these are hefty sockets for 1/4″ drive. The hex bits appear to be press-fit into the sockets, time will tell how that will hold up (but I expect it will be fine given the relatively small size – 1/16″ to 1/4″ – of these bits).

The Gearwrench 1/4 inch Drive SAE Hex Bit Socket Set comes with ten hex sockets. The sockets come in their own holder that let you just grab the one you need and pop it off its 1/4 inch holder. You get the following sockets; 1/16″, 5/64″, 3/32″, 7/64″, 1/8″, 9/64″, 5/32″, 3/16″, 7/32″, and 1/4″. The sockets have heat treated bases for added strength. Very nice set overall.

I have been looking for a set of these! I have often had problems loosing hex head set screws that have been in place for several years. A classic example is a shower control valve like the one i encountered yesterday. Normally, I would need a lot more leverage on a regular tool (or would have to manipulate the handle until I could get it into place). with this set, all I had to do was move the 1/4 drive handle until it slipped into place and remove the set screw with no problem. This organizing bar allows you to keep up with the tools.
