This is a very nice mechanics set of heavy duty 3/8 in sockets. This kit comes with regular SAE and metric as well as deep sockets SAE and metric. When you first pick up the ratchet you can feel the weight and how heavy duty they are. This set includes common sizes of sockets up to 1″. A nice set for the mechanic and/or DIYer. Labels are easy to read and the tools clean up very easily after use.

I’m totally happy with these sockets, every piece is cosmetically perfect. It’s hard to find affordable deep sockets with a shallow broach depth like these. The 120XP ratchet feels really smooth and precise, hope it holds up.

I have gotten several tool sets over the years and naturally some sockets get misplaced or lost so i jumped at the chance to get another tool set. This is a 3/8 drive with both metric and sae sizes. The case that it comes in is not the best as my sockets fall out of their place. The tools themselves seem to be of a very nice quality with a good weight to them and a nice hand feel. The ratchet handle has a very short stroke to it so you are able to get a good turn on a bolt when you have limited space. Overall i am pleased with this set.

The primary reason I got this 56-piece socket set by GearWrench was because it came with a case for storing the sockets, ratchet and extensions. I had hoped that the case would allow me to carry the set around with me while I work. Unfortunately, I discovered that the lightweight blow-molded case–as I received it–is not good for carrying the pieces unless I keep it flat. Everything in the case is liable to come out of the recessed holders when I carry the case by the handle. Then, when I open the case, the pieces are jumbled about and it takes some effort to locate the sockets I need. My solution to the carrying problem was to cut a couple pieces of 1/8-inch-thick corrugated cardboard to fit inside the lid. The presence of the cardboard (for the most part) keeps the parts in their holders when I carry the case by the handles. When I find a piece of dense foam rubber of the right thickness, I will cut it to size, glue it to the lid, and discard the cardboard. Good quality socket wrench set in a poorly constructed carrying case. The ratchet has a low profile head and super fine action for working in confined spaces, but lacks a quick-release button. Good selection of SAE and metric sockets with no skipped sizes. Socket openings are shaped to reduce the tendency to round off nut corners. Sockets sizes are labeled with fine etched lines, difficult to read in dimly lit work situations. Some other brands have the socket sizes clearly stamped. Otherwise, the fit and finish are excellent. The carrying case fails to secure the sockets in place, resulting in a jumbled disorganized mess. It’s an annoying waste of time to sort sockets after opening the case. Lifetime warranty on the tools does not apply to the case. Made in Taiwan.

I don’t know why I waited so long before getting a set like this. I used to get by with my old set but had to go out sometimes to buy a socket because I didn’t have the right size. Now everything is here in one box. This set has everything. Deep well and standard sockets in both SAE and metric. It comes with 2 extensions and a short throw ratchet. It only has to move a very short distance for the ratchet to engage. Perfect for tight places. The set is fully polished and has a Lifetime warranty. The sockets are 6 point which I know hold better than 12 point sockets. A super set for the serious DIYer. The only piece that I would like to see in the set is a breaker bar. Other than that, this set is worth getting because it has everything and should last you a lifetime. A great buy at a great price.

This is a nice set. The case is 16 inches wide, 10 inches top to bottom and 2.5 inches in height. The value is there compared to quality-named tool kits. There is no carrying handle. What I noticed right away is the metric and SAE sockets are marked; the metric have a metal-etched band around the sockets. The SAE are plain. You can tell which a socket is by looking. One thing I am unsure of is after a year of use, the small etched socket size may become indistinguishable. The size stamped onto the sockets is very small; it looks superficial. Time will tell. I would not let this scare you. The sockets themselves have a superior gripping design that transfers more force from the socket onto the head of a bolt. Thus the sockets have little chance to break and they grip bolt heads much better. The socket coding, the socket design, and the lifetime warranty make this kit the one to buy. The box itself is solid; there are two panels so the case will last. The clips to open/close are of thicker plastic. They will last. I have bought cheap sets and the cases crack, the latches break, and sockets spill out. This set makes that an impossibility under normal use. The socket wrench feels solid, and balanced in my hand. There are short and long sockets. The switch on the wrench is slightly recessed which is a good thing. here are short and long sockets. Overall, I am impressed with the price point, the quality, and selection of sockets for this kit. I recommend it.

Good set, nice quality feel, and prefer no soft grip on handle however the marking on the sockets is a little feint and could be better. My set arrived with a duplicate 1/2″ deep socket, and no 7/16″. Could also do with a 22mm and 24mm sockets to fill out the metric range, but contents were known when I bought it so can’t complain.

I have some good socket sets, but I will have to say this set is as good or better than any of those. The quality is excellent and well made. The ratchet is heavy duty, it reverses extremely well and smooth, the handle is just right for most all jobs. This set contains both long barrel and short, plus all the most common for many types of jobs. The extension is solid and will not twist when pressure is applied. Good quality socket set that would highly recommend. We like better if there was a button for socket on and off.

This is a nice ratchet wrench that is both standard and metric. I has a nice handle on the ratchet and the ratchet is nice and smooth when tightening bolts. It comes with three inch and six inch extension bars to reach hard to reach areas. There is also a swivel adapter that is included with the set. There are both standard and deep sockets. I wish they would have placed a handle on the case holding the sockets to help carry the case around. My only complaint is that the tool is made in China.

This Gear Wrench 3/8 socket set has both SAE and metric sockets. The set includes both deep well and standard sockets from ¼ inch to 1 inch in the standard sockets and ¼ – 7/8 in the deep well sockets. The metric sockets from 6 mm- 19 mm in both standard and deep well. The set comes with a black hard plastic carrying case. The case doesn’t hold the sockets in place unless it is carried flat. If you tip it or roll it over there are a few sockets that you will need to put back in place. The set comes with a ratchet, two extensions, and a swivel. Since this Gear Wrench socket set has a lifetime warranty it will give a home owner many years of use.
