Great set to have.. Received 90t ratchets instead of the described 84t.. Bonus! But the set looks and feels nice.

This Gear Wrench socket set is very complete. The ratchets seem high quality, just like the sockets. They have a really good chrome finish which will help prevent rust. The socket holes are dead center. The metric sockets range from 4 mm to 19 mm. The SAE range from 3/16″ to 13/16″ . Also included are long high quality combination wrenches in a few common sizes. All in a plastic case.

Nice little set with a little of everything…. bought it to have in my tool box on my side x side for emergency’s. The ratchet feels cheap so hopefully it holds up.

It’s a decent set for around the house. I got it on sale I think

Like the polished and comfortable grip and length of the ratchet handles and the internal 84 tooth rotating ratcheting design of the three ratchets for smooth torque turning of sockets, however, I would have liked to seen the popular quick release socket feature on these ratchets. Like the internal rounded radius stress relief design on the inside of sockets and wrenches to minimize rounding-over nuts and bolts thereby significantly reducing the potential for sockets and box end wrenches from splitting when stress torqued. Like metric size sockets having serrated lines around the socket to indicate metric sizes. Like the molded plastic carry case to organize sockets and wrenches by size, however, I had to add a 1/4″ thick foam pad across the entire inside area of the carry case to securely keep sockets and wrenches in their designated storage spaces when the case is carried. Like the 1/4″ and 1/2″ wobble extensions but that wobble feature was not provided on the most commonly used 3/8″ drive extension. Like the 7/16″, 1/2″, 9/16″ polished combination wrenches but don’t understand why they give a 18mm and 19 mm (19mm equivalent to 3/4″ size) combination wrench. Would rather like to also have included 5/8″, 11/16″ and 3/4″ polished combination wrenches instead, since I don’t use metric sizes that often. Like 1/4″ drive and 1/2″ drive 6 point and 12 point standard size and deep size sockets, however, 3/8″ drive fractional size standard sockets were only 12 point design and I would rather like to have 3/8″ drive 6 point sockets which 3/8″ is the most common drive size and 6 point socket design that I use. 6 point sockets and 6 point box end wrenches have greater interior side wall contact surface on nuts and bolts for better holding power of the tool to the fastener to help turn rusted and torqued fasteners. Tools are made in Taiwan and comes with a manufacturer’s lifetime warranty. My tool kit was packaged in error as it had two, 1/4″ drive 9mm deep sockets and it was missing the 1/4″ drive 7mm deep socket.

Love this box. For its size it very useful. Easy to grab and go.

Some of the chrome is coming of the sockets. This causes small cuts when grabbing them. A little bit inconvent.

If you are looking for a good starter set or figured out it’s more cost effective to buy a whole set versus buying each individual piece you have lost over the years this could be the set for you. This set weighs 19.5 pounds. I like that the case has (4) four fasteners, more secure, and the handle is integrated into the case. The sockets are marked/ etched on both sides and there is a designation, at quick glance,to tell you if it Is SAE OR METRIC, however because of the high polished chrome, especially on the smaller sockets, you have to play the ” tilt your head to angle of the light game”. I guess that’s why they put the sizes on the perimeter of the case. There are only 5 open end wrenches, 3 common SAE and, who picked the 2 metric sizes 18 & 19 mm ? I like the 84 tooth ratchets, easy to manipulate from fwd. to rev. Handles can get slippery ( try mechanics gloves). And yes all the sockets don’t stay in place, do they ever, try thin bubble wrap, foam, cardboard etc…. All in all it will serve it’s purpose, nice little set.

This is a nice socket set that includes many sizes. It only includes 2 metric wrenches and 3 SAE wrenches. You will want a separate set of wrenches to add to this set. The Ratchet handles have a nice contour to make the grip more comfortable. The layout in the case is a little confusing as it runs the 1/2 in drive and 3/8 drive sockets together and it does not include any metric deep well 1/2 in drive sockets, even though it has 7/16 to 13/16 deep well 1/2 in drive sockets. Also, the size stamped into the side of the sockets is difficult to read except in bright lighting. This would make a nice Holiday gift, but it is not a complete mechanics socket set, even though it says Mechanics set in the product title. There are many sizes that I would have to purchase in addition to this set, if I did not already have a complete mechanics set of sockets. This would make a nice set to carry in the vehicle for a road trip emergency.

First with the not so good. I removed and opened the set from the factory box that was sealed as well as all four latches on the case being latched. The sockets, wrenches, extensions were everywhere. Not a great way to start. I put everything back hoping it was just a shipping issue but it did it again. If you look at the photos, the one showing the set is from gently standing up the set with all 4 latches secured. If I were to throw it into my truck, it would be much worse. I cut a piece of cardboard to go between the top and bottom (other photo if it comes through) and it seems to be keeping everything in it’s place so far. The sockets have the size etched on them which is great but in direct light, the chrome gives a lot of reflection making them hard to read Now for the good. The metric sockets have etched marks which makes it much easier to choose the right size. It really is a good assortment to fit most sizes. Not a lot of wrenches but sockets to fit most needs. Being chrome, the sockets and wrenches wipe clean easily with the exception of the markings. That’s not a bad thing. A little grease on the markings makes them easier to read. The 84 tooth ratchet is really nice. It advances the socket when you have a very small area to work in. The ratchets have simple levers on the back to easily switch directions. They haven’t hung up on me once. Although a piece of cardboard is needed, the case still has it’s value. there are four latches, 2 in front and one on each side. Everything in the top of the case pops in and stays in place without cardboard, for the most part. Not much of the bottom of the case has anything to retain them but the sizes are clearly marked on the case so it’s not too rough to put everything back. Overall, it’s a decent set. It does have it’s pros but the tools rolling around when latched is a deal breaker for me.

For the price I don’t think there’s anything out there that compares. I was looking for a smaller tool kit and a toolbox to display the tools n my bench. This product does both. I’m very happy with the purchase.

Tools are good quality. The case is not as sturdy as I’d like.

I’ve always bought cheaper sets that never last.I decided to spend a little more on this set.I’ve already used these multiple times and they are great.I’m almost looking forward to my vehicles breaking down soI can use them. The true test will be to see if they last.As for now definately woth it.

excellent well made tools, especially for the price.the toolbox is hard plastic and it seems that it will last for years

This is the most complete set of ratchets I’ve ever owned. I am a woodworker mainly, so a set like this is perfect for my shop, has pretty much everything I will need and in it’s case it does not take up much space. The tools are heavy and sturdy and when clipped together feel solid. They feel good in your hand and are easy to put together and take back apart. While I highly recommend this product to anyone, but I am going to point out a couple small short comings. Handles are smooth and tapered, while fits well into the hand and feel good, they are a little slick. When they arrived many pieces had become dislodged from their storage space, was easy to fix and afterwards I closed up the case and took it for a jog around my house and no pieces became totally dislodged. Opening the case, there are latches on the side of the case plus the ones by the handle, a little hard to see, but not a big deal. One of the things I liked about these is the metric pieces and sae pieces are marked differently, metric pieces have ridges and sae have rings. Very nice, but there is one piece in the case marked as a metric with ridges, but it is a 1/4 inch adapter. Also not a deal breaker, but just a little strange. Last thing is all the pieces are laser etched with their size, great feature, except once again there is one piece, a #8 socket, this is not marked at all. I’m sure that will be the piece that get lost first. Over all, I am very comfortable giving this product 5 stars, I am sure most anyone who needs a good set will find these very useful. Not sure if this is mechanic level tool, but more than enough for the average DIYer and then some.
