I received the GearWrench 141 piece SAE/METRIC Mechanics Tool Set the other day and I was very impressed with the quality of this set. It has 3 different sized drives 1/4”, 3/8” and 1/2” which for me, covers all the possibilities that I could need. The ratchets have tear drop shaped heads, a slimmer head design for fitting into tight places, they are 15% longer than most ratchets found in kits (better leverage), and are high quality. The sockets are easily identified by double line or a knurled line for SAE (double line) and metric (Knurled line). THey are designed with a serration depth as deep as the socket. The kit also comes with a set of four open end wrenches, 12 different Allen Hex Keys (Allen wrenches). And the most important reason I got this was the great carry case that has sizes stamped into. I got tired of searching for the socket size I needed in a drawer full of sockets only to discover I couldn’t find the size I needed. This is a great kit for someone who may needs these tools out on the job (easy to grab and throw in the truck) or for just at home. I would highly recommend this set. .

Gear Wrench 141 Piece Ratchet Tool Set. OMG, this tool set has pretty much everything ratchet wise your mechanic or DIY’er would ever need. It’s a mechanics chest in a portable box. All range of sockets for small work (1/4 drive) to big stuff with 3/8 and 1/2 drives, to include extensions, tall and standard sockets in both MM and SAE. Then throw in the Allen set, most popular size open end wrenches, and screw bits, so you can fix about anything. It is very well made high quality polished steel that comes in well marked case and all sockets are well stamped with sizes and with knurled rings for easy identification. Just don’t tip it over, it will take you a week to put it back together, just kidding the sockets have excellent set spacer in box to keep them locked in place, just in case. Love this tool set.

Sometimes you are starting out and you need everything. This is a good place to get it all at once. You get the ratchet heads and all the sockets up to size 3/4 inches. There’s a nice case with a place for everything and everything in its place. Make sure you don’t open it upside down or you’ll spend a half hour putting each socket into its little hole. The writing on the sockets are a little hard to see but it is clearly marked. You just have to squint a little or get close to a good light source. Screwdriver bits,3 phillips/3 slotted, S,M,L that go in an adapter and fit on the end of the 1/4 drive nutdriver handle. Nice set of hex bit hex driver sockets that also fit on that adapter or handily go on your drill/driver. 4 open-end combination wrenches are included in the most common sizes. The ratchet heads click 45 times in one revolution so that gives you 9 degrees travel on each click of the pawl. Nice set to stock your shop or to take on the road. I’ve had a lot of luck with Gearwrench products. These’ll fix ya.

This is a great tool set. It has all the tools of this kind that you need, all in a durable plastic carrying case. The GearWrench 1/4 in., 3/8 in. and 1/2 in. Drive SAE/Metric Mechanics Tool Set (141-Piece) has regular and deep sockets with ¼”, 3/8” and ½”. It also has open end wrenches, as well as Allen wrenches, and magnetic bit drivers, all in SAE and metric. The ½ in drive is great for the stubborn old nuts and bolts that are frozen/stuck, while the ¼” is perfect for getting into the smaller, more delicate areas. The extensions have a knurled shaft so its easy to turn them by hand. I work on riding lawnmowers as a hobby and often need to take my tools with me. This set has everything I could possibly need. No more loading a bunch of tool in the back of my truck hoping I remembered them all, or getting to my destination only to realize I forgot some tool that was critical. These tools feel sturdy and have a lot of really great features.

This is a nice 141 piece mechanics tool set for either a DIY or mechanic. Set includes both SAE and Metric sockets in standard socket depth and deep sockets. I like the identifying of the sockets with a smooth side for the SAE and knurled sides for the metrics. The set includes nicely (ergonomic) designed 1/4″, 3/8″ and 1/2″ ratchets. I tried all the ratchets and they seems very positive in there action. Easily changed so the ratchet will go in either direction with one finger. Only two negatives I see even though I would still purchase and recommend: Allen wrenches are only SAE and keep the foam insert inside or your tools will spill when closed and turned over. Very nice set!

This set is especially noteworthy for the full set of socket wrench drivers and sockets. The drivers have the very desirable push-button locking ball to very securely hold the sockets to the handle, yet allow the sockets to be removed easily when desired. Having the full range of drives (1/4. 3/8/, 1/2 inch) means that the tool needed for the job is available. The Allen wrench set is a nice touch and it, like the other parts of the set, are precise and nicely finished. The Allen wrenches are squared at the end, not ball end. This is a wonderful set with a great case. The case has multiple locks to hold the top and bottom parts together to help avoid aggravation that comes with some sets when the halves open accidentally and tools spill out. The multiple locks on this set move securely into place and snap convincingly.

The GearWrench 1/4 in., 3/8 in. and 1/2 in. Drive SAE/Metric Mechanics Tool Set (141-Piece) Model # 80931 is something new from the GearWrench Brand. It’s a great set for the D.I.Y. or the Professional Tradesman. There’s a full range assortment of S.A.E. and Metric shallow and deep sockets along with 14 popular size S.A.E. / Metric nut drivers. Also included is an S.A.E. set of Allen Wrenches a set of apex bits with a ¼ in. drive bit holder and drive handle. I especially like the ratchets. They’re heavy, strong, with polished smooth handles and the push button socket release is a nice feature. GearWrench supports this product with a Manufacturer’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.

I ordered and recently received the GearWrench 1/4 in., 3/8 in. and 1/2 in. Drive SAE/Metric, 141 piece Mechanics Tool-Set . In short, this set covers the basic needs of the average driveway mechanic like me. The set includes a full set of the most common metric and American sized sockets (standard and deep-well) in all three drive sizes. I recently needed a 7/16 deep-well socket for an indoor home upgrade, and the GearWrench mechanics tool set had me covered. The nice carrying case has a place for every piece and is very streamlined and convenient for me to carry in my truck for those unexpected roadside repairs. The set comes with Allen wrenches and a few common box-end wrenches. In my opinion, this set of tools is high quality, should last me for many years to come and I would recommend this product. It would make a great gift for the mechanic in your family. I have included a few pictures of the set below.

This is a nice socket set by GearWrench. As a pro mechanic, I would use these everyday with some more sizes added. The ratchet handles feel strong, although a little small for my grip (I prefer wide comfort grip handles). The sockets for 1/4 and 3/8 drive are 6 and 12 point, with both shallow and deep sockets included in both standard and metric. The included 1/2 inch drive sockets are shallow only 12 point sockets in limited metric and standard sizes. The metric sockets have serrations on the end making them easy to identify. The action is smooth, and the gears grab with the smallest of turns which is nice for tight spots with a limited swing. The included wrenches are double ended non-box type. The issue I have with them is that the metric wrenches both have 12 mm on them, so there is only 3 sizes (10,12,14 mm). This makes no sense to me, just wasted space. It should be an 8 mm, 10, 12 and 14 mm. Another issue I had, is that the 3/8 drive extension is only in 6 inch. I like to have a 3 inch also, just like the quarter and half drive extensions. I do like the longer 6 inch drive regardless. The included 1/4 drive nut driver handle is useful if you keep this set in the case with all of the bits and special sockets designed for it.I like the laser engraved, easy to read sizes on the sockets. The sockets seem strong and look durable. Time will tell how the chrome coating holds up, but the finish looks good.I will be keeping this set in my truck for an emergency road set since it is so complete and well packed.I would recommend this set to another pro as the GearWrench name to me stands for long lasting quality at a good price.I have the original gear wrenches released more than 15 years ago and they work as good as the day I bought them. I have no doubt this set will last longer than me with proper care!

This is an outstanding kit for the home handyman or a craft professional who occasionally needs nut drivers. It is a comprehensive set of nuts, wrenches, ratchets, and extensions in both metric and imperial sizes. It includes one handle driver with a set of screw heads and a set of allen wrenches. I particularly like the set of nut drivers that work with my power drill. I used it to mount a flat screen mount with lag bolts going into the studs. So smooth and easy! The case is well made. I am committed to keeping them in the case for portability and ease to find what I need when I need it. A great home mechanics set!
