This set has everything in one compact storage box! I used the SAE 15/16″ socket together with the large 1/2″ drive ratchet handle to remove the bolts on my farm tractor tire. It worked perfectly, without slippage & did not break, regardless of the force I used to loosen the bolts. I also used the 1/4″ socket with the small 1/4″ drive ratchet handle to remove pipe clamps on a broken water fitting, in my barn. The broken water fitting was under floor boards in a tight space. The tiny clicks on the ratchet handle allowed me to loosen the pipe clamps, a little at a time, in that tight space. It also worked perfectly. All 3 ratchet handles: 1/4″ drive, 3/8″ drive & 1/2″ drive, turn with tiny clicks, so important when operating in very small spaces. Each ratchet handle has a quick release button on the head, when pressed, allows the socket to be inserted on the drive & prevents the socket from coming off, till the button is pressed again. This also worked great, when I worked in a tight space. It is a great work saver having all the long & short, SAE & Metric sockets, ratchet handles & extensions all in one storage box. Also all the SAE & Metric combination open & closed end wrenches, I would normally use, in that same tool box. It also has a complete set of nut drive bits, from 1/4″ to 1/2″ & 5mm to 11mm, with a strong magnetic 1/4″ bit drive handle. It also has 3 each: Philips head bits, slotted head bits & Torx head bits, that fit on the magnetic nut drive handle. Two sets of Allen (Hex Key) wrenches from 0.05″ to 3/8″ & 1.5mm to 10mm are also included. Each set is in it’s own secure holder. This made it easy to find & use the right size Allen wrench, when I removed the spigot from my bathroom tub. All sockets have a 6 point & a 12 point version. The Metric sockets were easily distinguished from the SAE sockets by the vertical grooves around the outside circumference of the socket. All sockets have the size of the socket hard stamped on it’s side & each socket has the size embossed on the pocket it sits in, in the tool box. That made it easy to keep the tool set organized. The included SAE socket sizes are from 5/32″ to 1 1/2″! The Metric sizes are from 4mm to 27mm. The SAE deep sockets, included in the set, are from 3/16″ to 3/4″ & include two spark plug SAE deep sockets: 5/8″ & 13/16″. The Metric deep sockets included are from 4mm to 19mm. There are also 7 socket extension bars, that fit the 3 ratchet handles. The combination open end & closed end wrench sizes are from 1/4″ to 3/4″, Metric from 6mm to 19mm. All wrench sizes are hard stamped on the wrench & embossed on it’s seat, in the tool box. All the above fits neatly in a perfect tool box. The tool box has a carry handle on top, hand grips on the sides & made of a heavy duty, rugged material. The three drawers are held in place, while in travel, by wings that snap securely shut. Each drawer can be removed from the tool box & taken to a work site. The lid has 2 latches that also holds the lid securely closed. This is a must have tool box set for every work shop.

Fantastic set of Gearwrench mechanics tool set in a three drawer storage box, a whopping 239 pieces! Theses tools come it, SAE and metric, six and 12 point socket. The allen wrench set also comes in SAE and metric. The wrenches have a long pattern length handle and ratchets have a quick release. Six and twelve sockets both shallow and deep well. I really like the handy tool chest all the tools comes in, I can take all the tools with me when I travel. This tool set is well made, looks high end with excellent chrome finish and feels great in your hands when working. This is a great set to have on hand for any job.

Wow! This GearWrench Mechanics Tool Set in 3-Drawer Storage Box is really a nice set of tools. They are heavy duty and not some cheap want-to-be tools. There are 239 pieces in this 3-drawer tool chest. I do not know how much this tools and chest weight but it is heavy! Which is not a bad thing. Just reaffirm they are heavy duty tools. Under the lid is the 1/2″, 3/8″ and 1/4″ ratchets and extensions plus the 1/2″ 12-point shallow sockets. The ratchets all have the buttons to press to release the sockets. The first drawer has all of the SAE and metric combination box and open ended wrench’s. All the wrench’s have an offset to help saving your knuckles and to get and stay on nuts and bolts. The second drawer has all of the 3/8″ and 1/4″ shallow sockets. Plus SAE and METRIC hex keys. The third drawer has all of the deep sockets along with the magnetic bit driver with ergonomic dual material handle with 9 screwdriver bits and 14 nutdriver bits. All pieces are clearly marked for easy reading of there size.The only thing I wish Goodwrench had done was to have all the wrench’s and sockets in 6-point instead of mixing them with some 12-point. The 6-point grabs the bolt or nut more securely which means less chance of rounding the bolt head or nut. But that is not even getting close to making this set of tools a deal breaker. These tools will give you years of quality service. The chest is strong and should also give years of service. It also has two flaps to securely hold the 3-drawers in place while transporting them.

I have been looking for a mechanics tool set that has the variety (standard – SAE) and metric and a set of wrenches, but I wanted something that I can carry from the shop out to the work area versus rolling out my bulky tool chest.This Gearwrench 239 piece set hit that wish list dead on!So, something most shop and driveway mechanics want is variety and organization. Most american vehicles are still assembled with both SAE and metric and then when you can’t fit a socket, you have to find the wrench that will work.This GEARWRENCH storage box keeps all the 239 pieces perfectly organized and easy to locate. From 1/2″ drive sockets to the magnetic bit driver – this set has it together!The entire set weighs in at just over 40 pounds but the storage box was built to carry either with the top mounted rugged handle or the molded side carry holds. I like the fact too that you can remove all 3 drawers to spread out the trays or I can park them into the drawers of my tool chest (except for the top tray of the storage box – it doesn’t remove).As for the tools themselves – it’s all there. I mean, what other set includes a 1-1/2 socket?! It’s a great assortment of both SAE and metric and both in 6 point and 12 point PLUS deep sockets!!Between the assortment of ratchets and wrenches there is enough to use as a driver and backup without having to reach for another tool set.This set is a trip saver meaning I can break-out this set and not have to go back to the shop and it is portable enough to put in the truck to take on jobs.The only con is the deep sockets – they are not full depth range. Nor is the bottom of the deep socket at full bore of the drive. In other words, the 5/8 inch 3/8″ drive deep socket has a “wall” in the base between the square of the drive and the well of the socket. This could interfere with some extended stud type of fasteners – but then, that’s when a wrench comes in.Pluses are: -the knurled sockets and extensions for finger grip-decent swing range of the ratchet drives with 45 tooth gears-easy to see size markings

Shallow sockets in the 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 in drive. Deep sockets in 1/4, and 3/8 in drive. Both metric and standard. It has combination wrenches up to 3/4 in standard and 19 mm metric. Nut driver set, Allen wrench set and screwdriver bits. I really like that the 1/2 in socket set goes up to 1 1/2 in.

I received my GearWrench brand 239-piece tool set today; It comes with a three-drawer storage box, which makes it very easy to transport.I plan on keeping this set in my backyard workshop to cut down on going back and forth to the garage.This toolset is fully polished, which not only looks good but makes them easy to clean.The ratchets and sockets click together and remove nicely from the ratchets. The sockets and wrenches are marked for easy identification and come in both metric and SAE sizes.Overall, I like that this set is a complete set of tools that will take care of most repairs, including ones that need a screwdriver and bit set and Allen keys to repair.Overall this is one of the most complete organized set of tools I have ever owned.

I’ve had this exact tool set since 2014. The tools themselves have never once failed me and I have used them on everything from military vehicles to sewing machines. They are fantastic. The case however, is trash. The handle wouldn’t even hold the weight of the toolbox from the first time I lifted it. Pulled it out of the box, unwrapped the toolbox, lifted it up and spilled every tool from the box into my living room floor. Within a week, one of the snaps broke off and I’ve had one clasp ever since then. The nut drivers rusted to uselessness after a couple years but I didn’t use those anyway, and the bit driver is a nice gesture but also nearly useless.

The sockets are 1/4 inch drive, 3/8 inch drive, and 1/2 inch drive with a socket drive for each. Both of the Metric and SAE sockets come in standard length and deep sockets. The metric sockets range from 4 mm to 27 mm in various drive sizes. The SAE sockets range from 5/32 inch to 1 1/2 inch in various drive sizes. There are also Metric and SAE Allen wrenches and 1/4 inch drive nut drivers in both styles. The storage case is made of strong molded plastic with latches to secure the contents while in transit. Each of the molded drawers have the item’s size molded in to easily locate the size you need. The storage case is 18 inches wide x 12 1/4 inches deep x 11 inches high. The entire set weighs a little over 40 lbs. This is a very nice set for working on engines, machinery, and any household tasks requiring wrenches and/or sockets. This is a beautiful set and high quality everything! First off, I love that it is nicely contained in the storage case that is well built and portable (although heavy). I don’t think there is a size that a socket wrench won’t have in this set. The same goes for the allen wrenches.Every piece is well built and fits in the the case tightly so it will be in the same place every time you go for it.

This is a great set for the workshop or garage. It has a very wide range of sockets, wrenches, and drivers. For any home projects, including automotive, this will cover most everything you need. The quality of all of the pieces is excellent. I own more expensive, well known, brands of wrenches and I can’t see any difference in quality.The storage box is really nice and why I wanted this. I’m not a fan of the clamshell cases because they can’t hold an entire set. This case holds so much more and is still portable. There is storage under the lid, and in the 3 removable drawers. Its nice to be able to lay the drawers out if you want. I really like that all of the storage spots have labels to indicate which socket goes there – makes it super quick and easy to find and replace sockets.My only small gripe is that they didn’t separate metric and SAE onto different drawers. I can’t imagine ever working on something that uses both metric and SAE.
