This GearWrench 4-Piece 3/8 in. Drive Extension Set is nice. It includes 4 sizes: 12 in., 6 in., 3 in., and 1-1/2 in. extensions. They are high polished chrome which makes them easy to keep clean. Each one has well-knurled shafts, providing a good grip. They go on and off the 3/8 in drive ratchet easily, but fit tight enough to not fall off. They come in a plastic storage try to help keep them organized in the socket drawer. These extensions appear to be better than any that I already own and the 12 in. is one size that I did not have, making it easier to use than putting multiple sizes together to reach some spots. I’m not doing anything requiring sockets right now, but I’ll be glad to have these the next time I do. I’m very happy with this set.

Excellent quality extension set. Heavy duty enough to use with an impact wrench. Several sizes to choose from making the job easy to reach in to get at bolts or nuts. Nice tray to keep them organized. I really like the decent that keeps your sockets secured to the extension without dropping it. Highly recommend this heavy duty set of extensions. This extension set will pretty much put any nut or bolt within your reach. You can connect multiple extensions together to extend your reach into places that seems impossible to get to before. I was replacing my battery in my truck and I needed to get a bolt out that was really far down and hard to reach before. Now it is a cinch to reach and remove. I can see lots of jobs that are now going to be easier with this extension set.

GearWrench Brand, 3/8 in. Drive Extension Set (4-Piece) are a must for use with socket wrenches. These Gear Wrench extensions go great with Gear Wrench ratchet wrenches and work well with other brands of 3/8-inch drive socket wrench tools. The chrome finish is outstanding, smooth and evenly applied making these extensions easily wipe clean while offering superior corrosion protection. However, expect some soil to accumulate in the knurling. The detent balls have a strong spring to keep the socket on the extension as there is nothing more frustrating than a dropped socket that rolls away or ends up stuck on the fastener or part during use. This set includes the most common size socket wrench set extensions that will ever be needed and when extra length is required, several extensions can be used together. Overall these Gear Wrench extensions are an outstanding value based on their features, rivaling other brands costing ten-times as much.

GearWrench 3/8 in. Drive Extension Set (4-Piece) – a Home Depot Seeds Program ReviewI needed a six inch extension for a 3/8 inch ratchet for a job I needed to do. I found this GearWrench 3/8 in. Drive Extension 4-Piece set at a very good price and figured I would get it. It includes the 6 inch extension I needed as well as a 1 ½ inch, 3 inch and a 12 inch. I have other GearWrench tools and have been very pleased with them. They’re made in Taiwan but are covered by a Lifetime Warranty. I must admit I’ve never looked into the details of the warranty to see if there are any restrictions but I’ve never needed to take advantage of it.These extensions have a full polish chrome finish and could tend to be a little “slippery” with sweaty hands as some other extensions I have do. To help alleviate that, GearWrench have put a knurled section a couple of inches up from where the extension meets the ratchet handle. This gives you a little more control over its use. There are indentations on the inside of the female end to match the ball detent of a ratchet handle, joining them securely. The male end has a ball detent for secure socket retention. Combined, the handle, extension and socket hold together very well and won’t come apart in use.This set does not come with any sort of case except for the packaging. That would be a nice thing to have since I suspect they’ll fall to the bottom of the tool box pretty quickly. In use, they’re as good or better than others I’ve used. As it turned out I was very glad I bought the 4-piece set since I ended up needing the 12 inch extension as well as the 6 inch.I’m pretty happy with this set and the price was very good for it. They should last longer than I will will and, with a lifetime warranty, probably considerably longer. The lengths are fine. I now have an extra 3 inch extension and, while I thought the 6 inch would do my job, I definitely needed the 12 inch one. The knurled portion on the shaft provides a good feel and control. This is a great set of extensions. I am very happy with these. The quality is excellent; very durable and sleek. The longest extension is very helpful. I have never had an extension at this length. It is very helpful at getting into those spaces a little two far for comfort. I no longer have to reach far into the engine bay and manipulate my fingers in odd ways to untighten bolts. My only complaint is the case it came in. Not very durable or strong. Other than that, a good set of extensions.

GearWrench 3/8 in. Drive Extension Set (4-Piece) is a very good quality extension set. Made of a good grade material as well. I feel these extensions will last a long time and you can’t beat the lifetime warranty on the product either. I put one through the test installing some 3/8″ lag bolts on my attic stairs-performed as I expected the GearWrench product to do. I also like the knurled section on the extensions as so you can grip in this section to take the “slack” out of a bolt more easily and quickly prior to the final tightened with the ratchet. I highly recommend the GearWrench brand products.

I have a temperamental electric jack on my motor home. When it doesn’t want to fully retract, there is a nut on the backside of the jack’s motor that a battery powered drill with a 3/8″ adapter and socket can manually drive the motor to finish the retraction. With the 12″ extension of this GearWrench set I can easily reach the motor and hold the drill and endure the several minutes it takes to drive this very low geared jack up to the travel position. On other bolts and nuts, the knurled sections on these extensions are simple and surprisingly useful at allowing you to grip the extension and run the bolt out after you’ve loosened it with the ratchet.

These Gearwrench extensions are the way to go! As a professional mechanic I have come to greatly respect and enjoy using my Gearwrench tools. As a mechanic a 3/8 ratchet or extension is goin to be your most used tool and these extensions don’t let you down. In this 4 piece set you have a 1.5″, 3″, 6″, and 12″ extension and they are made of chrome covered alloy steel that is easily cleaned and has a very nice polish to it. They have the ball detent in the ends so the sockets will catch on the extension and not slide off. Another great feature is the knurled grip that allows you to turn the extension easier. My favorite part is the blow molded tray that the set comes in though, when you do the kind of job I do its best to have your tools organized so that you can go to your tools when you need them and know exactly where they are. A bonus feature is that it comes with the gearwrench lifetime guarantee. I am very pleased with the product and will buy more eventually for home.
