Wow! I was pleasantly surprised to see that this product be so good! I have used a lot of different ratchets and they have been ok. This set impressed me! Usually you have a hard click that makes you think that the bearings are bigger. These seem to be smaller which helps you with positioning of your ratchet! What a great set to have! They work great!

I am excited to use these high quality wrenches with their ergonomic shape, weight, balance, and great finish. These operate smoothly and engage with only 3 degrees of ratcheting arc, with good back drag. The best part is the 120 tooth mechanism which uses a 60 tooth gear and twin pawl design, which gives more gear surface area and holding power. With the 3 degree arc, thin head design with flush mount switch profile these wrenches work very well in tight, hard to reach confined spaces. As with all professional grade wrenches, these do not have quick releases. These are made in Taiwan but should last a lifetime with the enclosed head design and the Lifetime Warranty.

I was happy to get a new set of wrenches, as the one I have had for 15+ years is having issues with the ratcheting mechanism and needs to be replaced. This set includes three ratcheting wrenches of different sizes. Note that all three require bits of different sizes: the middle size matches the rather standard sockets that I currently have, so I will need to get two more sets to use the other sizes. Quality is very good, they are nice and heavy and have a great feel in the hand. I appreciated the foam packaging they came in, and will end up using that for storing them (I prefer that and use up a bit more storage space rather than lose one of the ratchets.

The 120XP means that you only need 3 degrees of movement to catch a tooth and tighten or loosen a fastener. I recently used the 1/4″ to remove a blower motor that was in a tight spot. The 1/2″ is quite large with a long handle. The 3/8″ has a normal head but has a long handle. The 1/4″ is nice and small but has a long handle. The way GearWrench is able to have 120 positions is with 60 tooth gears and 2 pawls that alternate. Every 1/2 tooth rotation it switches between the pawl on the right and the pawl on the left. There are videos that explain this better from GearWrench. If they had used a 120 tooth gear it would likely be too fragile to hold up to much abuse. As an added bonus, the switch has On and Off stamped in the wrench much like the Snap-On Wrenches do. The head also has 3 degrees stamped in it in case you forget how much travel is needed to catch a tooth.

This THREE PIECE RATCHET SET is nice. It comes with A 1/4 INCH, A 1/2 INCH AND A 3/8 INCH ratchets. All three ratchets work great and are sturdy enough to handle putting some torque on them when loosening or tightening bolts and nuts. You can easily switch between directions with a flip of a switch. The ratchets come in a handy case for easy storage. Great ratchets for anybody needing a full set.

This set of ratchets should fill any need you might have for good quality ratchets for many years to come. There are other much more expensive ratchets on the market, but if you are like me, even though l like a nice ” shiny” good looking tool as well as the next guy, the most important feature is, how well do they do the job you bought them for? I probably now own, or have owned 20 or more ratchets over the years made by different manufactures, but most had the same problem, the spacing between the teeth required you to have to rotate the ratchet farther than the work space allowed. That will not be a problem with these ratchets as you only need to rotate the ratchets 3 degrees to get another bite on a tooth, believe me, you will really like that feature! And besides that, they look great also.

I love tools, I don’t just use tools, I collect them, and I haunt tool departments just to visit with them. I have been known to find lame “I need that” excuses to buy an exceptionally nice tool when I find it, even when I already have something like it, just to have and display it on the pegboard over my workbench, in the off chance that someday I will need it and be glad I have it. So I generally know what I am looking at with tools, and what separates a fine tool from one that is not what it looks like. This “120XP” GearWrench 3 Piece Ratchet Set includes one-quarter inch, three-eighths inch and one-half inch ratchets, one of each. The Pawls in these excellent Gearwrench ratchets, the critical and hard working internal rotating part at the heart of them, that actually drives the socket, clicks along as you rotate the handle and gives you the mechanical “purchase” to tighten and loosen stubborn nuts, have a very tight 3-degree arc, or turning distance between the teeth, which requires cutting 120 perfectly spaced teeth in the circle, something not usually found or even possible in low end ratchet tools, where the lesser quality, softer steel used won’t tolerate it, and won’t hold up long. The 3-degree arc achieved on these Gearwrench 120XP Ratchet pauls means they excel and are at their best in tight spaces, where you don’t have much room to swing the wrench and pick up the next “click” on the pawl to tighten or loosen a tough to reach nut, and any slippage translates into painful bruised knuckles. The attention to detail in machining, the remarkable heft that only comes from a spare nothing quality and maximum performance design and the finely polished finish, that resembles fine tableware, make this set from a manufacturer with a reputation for high quality tools simply a “Wow”. Almost too good to actually use. A remarkable plus, this set comes sitting in a very nice two-color closed cell foam display and storage tray, that will look proud sitting in a tool chest drawer.

Very fine tooth. I would have expected these to be sold by a man on a truck . I was able to pry heavily on these with a pipe extention on both the 1/2 drive and the 3/8 drive without having any tooth failures. The foam holder they come in is nice but for me a bit impractical . I was wowed by the chrome finish and how smoothe the ratchet mechanism is. The handles fit my hand well and were comfortable to use.

Comfortable, Well Designed, Highly Functional Ratchets. Slim flat head. Smooth round contoured handle easy on hand. Fine ratcheting action. All around great ratchets with heavy solid feel. Selected for precise ratchet action, slender head, for confined work on lawn and snow equipment. Also for farm tractor maintenance. Very satisfied with each size ratchets performance. Most sockets easy on and off – no release button. Few stuck on ½” ratchet at first, lessened with use. Thin head allows time saving easier work in tight spaces. After three weeks use very satisfied with ratchets performance. Teardrop ratchets very effective versatile tools on site repairs, strong and tighter access decreasing repair time. Ratchets foam packaging keeps them secure, protected and handy. Highly recommend all three ratchets. Quickly prove worth. Manufacturer Limited Lifetime Warranty too!

These Gearwrench 120XP teardrop ratchets are very impressive even on a professional level! They are very ergonomic, lessening fatigue when using them for long periods of time or near daily. What I am REALLY EXCITED about is the gearing! See video attached to see and hear the difference! With more teeth in the gearing, you can more easily use these ratchets in tighter spaces where other ratchets would not work nearly as well. These ratchets are a pleasure and easy to use, improving productivity, saving time and easing frustration when faced with challenging access on projects. When I use these ratchets, there is much rejoicing! I ABSOLUTELY HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Gearwrench 120XP Teardrop Ratchets.
