The GearWrench flex head Teardrop Ratchet works great at getting to those awkward tight spots while also providing some nice angles to tackle your projects. Hands down my favorite feature is the 3 degree click, this really allows movement of the ratchet where space is limited. The Ratchet feels solid and I haven’t had it slip under heavy loads. Another thing I quite enjoyed that I discovered by accident was the ability to be able to fasten a bolt that’s on the ceiling/above you while standing on the ground, essentially bending the head the full 90 degrees allows you to use the ratchet vertically. The ability to angle the ratchet also is nice when it comes to clearing obstacles that might be in the way of a full range of motion. One slightly annoying issue I noticed is that the head will move if pressure is not applied laterally. Would of liked to have seen more resistance on the neck of the ratchet to prevent it from moving so easily.Construction of the ratchet feels solid, the full metal body makes it easy to clean. Lightweight and comfortable to use.

Good for tight spots in the engine bay. Nice combination of size, leverage, and ratchet action.

This flexhead ratchet fights above its weight class. With great feel and heft, it is going to last a long time. Very excited to add it to my trusted tool family.

It used to be that one style of ratchet is all you needed but in today’s market there are specialized ratchets such as this one that makes life so much easier. Its flex-head makes it perfect for those hard to reach areas where a standard straight-handle ratchet just won’t work. The flex head has an arc of 180 degrees with indents every 45 degrees. The joint is fairly tight so it doesn’t wobble around as you’re trying to position it on the bolt or nut. The 120 “clicks” per 360 degrees of the ratcheting head gives 3 degrees movement of the 3/8” socket per click – again very helpful in tight areas where the swing arc of the handle may be very limited (for comparison, my standard 3/8” ratchet has 24 “clicks” every 360 degrees or 15 degrees for each click). This tool has a very long handle compared to my standard 3/8” ratchet which again could be very beneficial on hard to reach bolts/nuts. Overall, I am very happy with this tools flexibility, quality and design. It is a necessary tool to have in your toolbox and therefore, highly recommend it.

As good as a ratchet gets. This GearWrench ratchet is nicely polished and plated. It’s got a solid feel and good heft to it.It has a dual pawl system so it can ratchet with just 3 degrees of motion (120 “clicks” per rotation). The overall length is 11.5 inches (I did measure it!). I prefer the flex head design and its usually the first ratchet that I peak up – you can get into really weird places, and you can bend it to 90-degrees and use the tool like a speed wrench once the fastener has been broken free (you don’t get much torque, but its easy to spin a loose fastener off). Works great! The 3/8 square drive comes with a spring loaded ball to hold the socket. Tension seemed about right, didn’t have to struggle to put sockets on or to take them off.

From the moment you pick up the Gearwrench flex head ratchet you know you are holding a quality tool. The polish and finish are perfect and the wrench just really feels good in your hands. The ratcheting action is silky smooth as it the drive direction selector. Made for getting into tight and awkward spaces the 120 click double paw system only requires 3 degrees of motion. While there is no socket release button, I found that the ball detent held my sockets securely without requiring an inordinate amount of force to remove the socket. The head has 180 degrees of motion with six positions to set the angle of the head to the handle. It seems anymore that you need to be able to get to nuts and bolts that are placed in ridiculously odd/tight places and this ratchet certainly helps to get the job done.

This is a very nice quality ratchet. It doesn’t have a socket disconnect button but has a dual pawl system to give a 120 tooth feel ratchet with the durability of a 60 tooth ratchet. This makes for easier tightening in tight places. This ratchet is a 3/8 in. drive and a teardrop-style head with a low profile to allow for excellent access to nuts and bolts in tight locations.Although it has a nice feel and made very well, it is long. However, longer handles give you more torque and you’ll get plenty of torqueing action with it. When working on my engine, it could be tight in different applications but great in others. It’s good to have options.
