This 1/4 IN. AND 3/8 IN. DRIVE CUSHION GRIP ROTO-RATCHET SET (2-PIECE) from GearWrench is a great tool to have around for those projects that require some torque to fully manage. Great for me since I try first myself to attempt a myriad of Diy chores before calling in my hubby or sons to help. Easy to apply, cushion grips for better handling and compact enough for a number of bolt/nut installations or removal. Came in handy when I used it recently to install a bolt for a tv wall unit in a guest room. Well made and it feels like it will last me a lifetime. Great product.

Two good heavy-duty ratchets. The ratchet head rotates to allow an easy reach for those bolts and nuts in tight spaces. Even the ratchet direction button has a low profile to make those tight squeezes more accessible. The 72 tooth ratchet gear makes for a very short throw with the handle. The rubbery material in the handle gives you a good grip even with greasy hands. These are good tools for a much lower price than those sold from a truck

Finally a ratchet set with a new design that brings something inventive and very much needed to your toolbox. First inspection reveals a very different yoke surrounding the central drive head. This is mounted like you see on those large binoculars at national parks. On this device you can set your socket at the traditional 90 degree angle to loosen or tighten. However a simple turn of the wrist and the whole thing straightens out so you can move nut like a screwdriver. Great addition to any toolbox.

I’ll be honest, I don’t do much mechanic or automotive work but use ratchets sometimes for work (construction) but I’ve never had a ratchet, or rather a pair of ratchets, quite like these. First, the cushion grip feels great in my hand compared to the classic metal handle that is either smooth or knurled. This just feels great. Second, the swiveling head makes it soooooo much easier to find any position you want to tackle the nut/bolt, and with 72 teeth you can really get anything in pretty much any position even with just five degrees of swing. Overall in terms of quality it seems high, maybe not tool-truck high but great for the average user. The set of 3/8 and 1/4″ means you can do what I’m planning on doing and leaving one at home (3/8) for around the house stuff and putting the other (1/4″) in my plumbing box which stays in my work truck. Your needs I’m sure will be different but two sizes gives you additional flexibility.

This ratchet replaces one I had for many years that is just worn, especially on the interior heads. I really like theses GearWrench heads have a great fit and I really like that they rotate. They feel comfortable in your hands and are easy to get the head onto a nut at an odd angle since the head rotates. I will be utilizing this ratchet set often during my home renovation.

GearWrench 81223 1/4 in. and 3/8 in. Drive Cushion Grip Roto-Ratchet Set (2-Piece)I received this product at no cost for my honest review. The first thing I noticed is how good the cushion grip handle felt in my hand. Until now I have only had ratchet wrenches with bare metal handles. It’s really nice to have the better grip, especially with oily hands and now I’m not as prone to dropping the wrench at the worst possible moment either. The really fine ratchet teeth worked great for tight places and with the “Roto-Ratchet head” it gives me the ability to rotate the head of the ratchet in any position, even more angles than with the flex head style wrenches. What I like best about this style is being able to start screwing on the bolt/nut with the roto head at around 90 degrees and using it like you would a nut driver with my thumb and index finger and once it’s snugging up then I rotate the wrench down to normal position to fully tighten down.

Had these ratchets for a couple weeks now and have no complaints as of yet. I torqued on each of the ratchets on some rusted over bolts and both held up well. The cushion handle is extremely nice although I wonder how it will weather after being dropped into oil or grease. I cannot attest to the durability of the cushion grip in terms of peeling or chipping off since I’ve only had a short while but after a couple drops and I even through it and didn’t show any signs of chipping, scratching, falling apart. Overall real happy.

The great wrench roto head ratchet are a very handy tool to have. The handle design is nice and ergonomic so it comfortable in you hand, even with greasy or wet hands you are still able to hold it tightly in you hand. The roto head lets you get into and work in some difficult to access spots and only needs a minimum amount of swing room to be able to use the ratchet. They are built very good and could take a good amount of abuse and torque with out having to worry about them snaping.

Looks, feels, and works great! I saw near identical cheap copies of these ratchets at a bargain tool store and the quality is not even close to gearwrench! These ratchets are great, the cushion grip handle fits well in your hand, has a nice shape, feels sturdy and comfortable while using. The swivel head is fantastic, once you break torque just put the handle straight up and you can spin the nut or bolt quickly and easily since the handle feels great and doesn’t slip easily. I haven’t opened it, but the ratcheting mechanism is very smooth, feels high quality and easy to use. Great addition to my tool chest.
