Apex Tool/GEARWRENCH and The Home Depot have a great set of Ratchets !What I love about these is they have the body of 1/4 inch drive with 3/8 inch driveinner workings ! This makes them work with larger sized sockets but still gives youeasier to handle size in tight areas. The 90 tooth ratchet works in about a 3-4 inchswing. The fit and finish is second to none ! The on and off switch is handy for thumb access. I wish they had a socket release button !!

These ratchet are now the go-to socket wrench’s in my tool box. I really like the way they feel in my hand when using them. I work on stuff that, by design, does not have a lot of room, so these low profile heads are just the ticket. The 90 tooth ratchet design with 4 degree swing arc is very effective. You will appreciate the low profile head and flush finished, left and right switch. The highly polished chrome finish is easy to clean, a habit of mine is to wipe my tool down after use, that make them ready to go next time. I gave these a 5 but I must admit I like the rejection button on top of some ratchets to release the socket. I’m sure that it could not be added and maintain such a low profile head. Excellent set. A short one for small bolts and a large one for larger bolts.

I generally like GearWrench ratchets and this set is no different. The set is just another quality set of ratchets from GearWrench that is well made and comes with that lifetime warranty. The ratchets are both 90 tooth and nice and smooth mechanism. You get a 4 degree swing arc which helps in those tight spaces. Both ratchets have a super compact head that again helps in those tight spaces. The ratchet set includes one ratchet that is a little over 8 inches in length and one that under 5 inches in length. Both have a slender handle but are easy to hold and put the torque you need on them. The set is polished chrome and 3/8” drive size. And look well made. I had no issues placing a 3/8” sockets on the head and removing them.If you are looking for a small ratchet set to get in tight spaces look no further than this set. Truly a great set from GearWrench.

I love these ratchets, especially the stubby ratchet. I have found all too often that I would like to use my 3/8 in ratchet, but only the 1/4 in will fit in the area required. With this stubby ratchet I can fit in smaller areas, but have more strength and durability. The teeth in these ratchets are very smooth and make it super easy to use the ratcheting. The last thing I like is the size of these ratchets. I have attached a picture that shows the dimensions when compared to my older 3/8 in drive ratchets. I think it is clear to see that these have a clear advantage with fitting in smaller spaces while still having the size needed to break bolts loose.

The Gearwrench 2 piece ratchet set is a great addition to the tool box. I have been picking up more and more Gearwrench tools simply because over time I have found them to be of excellent quality at an affordable price. Sure, you can pay a lot more for tools but I am not sure that you get better value. Both these ratchets are nicely finished in chrome and feel really good in the hand. They wipe clean easily as well. Both ratchets hold sockets securely but not so tight that it is impossible to remove the socket from the ratchet. I really appreciate the compact head and the 90 tooth low swing arc that makes it so much easier to work in tight places. The on/off selector is flush mounted and is out of the way yet easily accessible. They operate really smoothly with no slop. I suspect that this precise engineering is what makes them so strong. Really like the short ratchet for working in places where a longer ratchet would be knocking into stuff with each swing. This is a great set of ratchets that will last a lifetime with a warranty to back up that claim. Good stuff.

The Gearwrench 3/8″ drive ratchets are great for anyone thats handy. The ratchets feature a 90 tooth count that operates very smooth. This ratchets are also the compact style which helps you get into tight spots. The heads are only a 1/2″ thick and only require a 4 degree range of motion to operate. The handles are very sold and are a bright polished chrome.

The Stubby ratchet fits where others won’t. The head of the ratchet is slightly less than 1 (one) inch wide and the length is 4-5/8 inches long, which makes it a very small ratchet. One site lists 1-1/4 which is not correct, we measured it and is slightly less than one inch. The 90 teeth makes it possible to get a click or two in where other ratchets will not.The longer ratchet has 90 teeth also. The longer ratchet is 8-3/8 inches long. The rounded handle has a nice feel to it. No corners to hurt your hand. Similar in shape and size to some old time Craftsman ratchets.Toggle action to change direction.Does not have a thumbwheel.Does not have quick release button.Does not have a pivoting head.Shown in action working on one of our car projects.

I really needed a ratchet to replace one that broke and am very glad I got these. I never realized how handy a shorter ratchet could be, but I’m very happy to have this set. These work perfectly with a socket set I’ve had that included a hand ratchet because sometimes you just need something with a longer handle that provides more leverage. And with a lifetime warranty, I think I’m set for a while. 🙂

Another great item from GearWrench. This set of compact ratchets really come in handy when trying to reach into tight spaces. The ratchet heads are very compact and have easy to read and adjust on/off lever. The head swings at a 4 degree arc so it is prefect to loosen or tighten bolts in a tight space. The ratchets are 90 tooth so the mechanism is very smooth. The handle is compact also but still easy to hold. The ratchets are polished chrome and come in one that is just under 9 inches and one that is just under 5 inches. The ratchets also come with a lifetime warranty like gearwrench products normally do. The 3/8” drive head is prefect and attaching or removing a socket.Overall a great set of ratchets. Great if you are in the market for a compact ratchet set

Nice addition to any mechanics set of tools. The ratchets are light yet have a good sturdy feel to them. The heads are small and good for getting into tight spaces. The gears have a good tight feel as well no loose play in them. There is no socket release on them so the sockets have a tight hold and require a little more work to remove them. The small ratchet is pretty small for a 3/8″ drive, it’s barely bigger than a standard spark plug socket. I haven’t used them a ton yet but so far I’m happy with them.

My husband is very happy with this gear wrench set. When it is described as easy to use in tight spaces, i didn’t really understand the concept. I thought that it was just a petite handle. But the benefit of this handle is the 90 tooth concept. Thus when, for example, you tighten a bolt and have minimal room for handle swing, the 90 tooth ratchet can quickly re-engage for another short swing.NO SOCKETS INCLUDED.
