Such a cool little tool. There are times when you need to thread in a bolt or spark plug and you want to feel the threads, this tool is perfect for those times. Its lightweight aluminum is not only feels good in the hands but also allows you to feel the bolt through the metal. Its just the right size and the ratcheting gets feel nice and precise. The gimbal is a great feature that allows you to use this at almost any angle. Im getting the 1/4 drive version as well.

I selected this GEARWRENCH 3/8 INCH DRIVE GIMBAL as I have been working on my van and I needed one; needless to say, this 3/8 inch GEARWRENCH DRIVE GIMBAL came to the rescue; I was working in some very tight spaces in my vehicle’s engine and it helped me a lot; arrived on time and as described; I highly recommend this GEARWRENCH 3/8 INCH DRIVE GIMBAL

Nice swivel ratchet!I used this twice over the last few days and it is really nice for tight spaces. No more stubby flex head wratchets for me. The outer handle is recessed and makes it nice for semi greasy hands to turn it. This can also be a downfall, as who has just right greasy hands? The gears are close together, so getting a tight squeeze nut off is easy with this tool. I was able to at least get one flat at a time on a 3/8 nut with a minimal 3 click twist. The quality seems up to par with bigger name brand tools for twice the price. I will be watching to see how the open face collects dust and other useless debris in my tool bag. I like Gearwrench products and will stand by this as a good useful tool. I still have my original set of wrenches and they work fine after 15 plus years.

The GearWrench is a hand-held palm-size ratchet. Because it is palm-size, it doesn’t provide much in the way of leverage for loosening tight nuts and/or bolts. It did prove useful in starting hard to reach bolts. While the swivel function is helpful for hard to reach nuts and bolts, the swivel function is at the wrong end to be truly effective. Like any ratchet, it is reversible. The quality seems good, but I see limited practical use for a hand-held ratchet with little leverage. In other words, it’s an impulse buy type item that would probably end up sitting in the toolbox way more than it ever got used.

Ok I never thought I’d have much use for a gimbal. But having this Gearwrench in my toolbox has been productive and exciting. The first chance I had with it was under the hood of my old car. I was extremely frustrated when I had to remove a bolt and nut in a small and aquard position in my chevy van. I had no tool that would fit at that angle. Reluctantly I tried the gimbal and presto what do you know this little tool actually works and did the job. I love this thing. A must have for a pro or DIY toolbox.

This thing is a must have and a life saver. On my truck I needed to replace my headlights and its one of those vehicles that you need to pull the whole light fixture out of the vehicle to replace the bulb. I’ve done it in the past and one of the bolts you need to hold a piece of plastic out of the way with one hand and reach in and with just one hand loosen the bolt. This made that job so much easier than trying to do it with a standard ratchet. I’ve included a picture of the bolt, so I have one hand holding the plastic and the other is taking the picture. The ratcheting feels good and sturdy I feel like this is a tool that will defiantly hold up over time. I know black tools are the fad right now but the coating comes of so fast and looks terrible I prefer to have my tools just silver.

When you have a ratchet wench with not too much room to use it. Then this is for you. This 3/8″ ratchet hand driver fits in the palm of your hand and makes tightening a bolt or nut much easier.Yes it can switch to ratchet both ways ( ON or OFF ).I have rebuilt my 1953 MG TD ( see pic of grand son and car(s) ) and I can tell you that this would have been used more than a dozen times in over the 6 months I was working on this car. This thing swivels to get to any angle you might need

I was not quite sure what the real purpose of this device was until I started using it. I work on various mechanical things including my old cars, some bolts and nuts are buried deep inside the engine compartment and they are very difficult to reach and get the nut stated with your fingers, specially if the threads on the bolt is slightly damaged. This device is ideal for such situations for getting the nut started by hand. The swivel capability enable getting in to bolts at an angle. It is a useful addition to the set of socket set. The reversing capability and the ratchet action enable you to remove the nuts or bolts by hand after they have been loosened.

Good product to have in any tool box. This gear wrench 3/8Gimbal ratchet works well and feels really good in the hand. Not to heavy but heavy enough to not feel cheap. Works well in tight areas where a standard ratchet won’t fit. Only concern I have is the plastic lock to switch between counter and clockwise rotation. Not sure how well it will hold up to falls and drops but time will tell. Overall looks great, functions great. I would recommend.

Doing refrigeration I tend to get into all angles of work and this tool gives me the advantage for extreme positioning.
