Good wrenches are hard to find, with drability, quality, good grips, sizes and weight. GEARWRENCH METRIC FLARE NUT WRENCH SET (6-PIECE) achieves everything I want in wrenches from classic design with improvements like angled head (I’d guess 15 degree offset), Flare design, creating less rounding of the fastener. Good selection of sizes 21 millimeters down to 9 millimeters, Chrome Mirror finish.

I needed a set of metric wrenches and this set is the best I have seen in a long time. First one is the finish and appearance which appears to be heavy polished chrome. The second is the size of the wrench is clearly marked on both sides and then the other features that I appreciate are the openings on the end of the wrench which improves access and then the angle of the offset that allows the wrench better access in tight places. Good design. finish and markings and in a convenient graduated holder.

There’s not much to say about these other then there a great value, and weight is nicely balanced to the feel. These get used often in my shop in the garage, they work great on nuts that are not seized as they are not very tight on the nut and can slip on those stubborn rusty jobs. I got both the metric set; they come in nice blow molded cases and fit perfect in the drawers of my tool chest.

This is a great set of flare nut wrenches with an outstanding chrome finish. First use was replacing my brake master cylinder. I noticed no flex when putting a lot of force on the wrench to loosen the brake lines. They come with a nice hard plastic case that makes it easy to keep them organized during storage. Sizes go from 9mm to 21mm but skip 20mm. Quality is top notch. These wrench ends are beefy and will help prevent stripping out fittings. I most commonly use these on brake, hydraulic, plumbing and pneumatic lines and fittings.

They are double ended, with a different size on each end. The set ranges from 9 to 21 MM and includes all 12 of the most commonly needed standard sizes. They are beautifully finished in the signature GearWrench rich satin chrome, with high visibility and easy to read sizes and brand logos displayed on each side. The wrench ends have a 15-degree offset which greatly improves the work area clearance and ergonomic performance, making them far better performers and easier to handle than the average flat wrench. The first time you put one of these GearWrench brand wrenches in your hand, the head of the pack quality jumps out at you. These wrenches are exceptionally smooth-surfaced, and unlike so many other brands that are stylized with grooves, deeply stamped or raised logos and other dirt and grease collecting “nooks and crannies”, they quickly wipe clean after use for a fresh start next time. That goes a long way in keeping your toolbox or storage area clean also. Flare nuts, often made of soft brass as well as steel, are used extensively on automotive brake and gas lines, as well as refrigeration units, water coolers, dehumidifiers, household plumbing such as sink and toilet hookups, and other home and commercial applications like the ice maker and water dispenser lines that go to your refrigerator. These need to be checked for tightness from time to time because when you pull the unit out to clean under and behind it, you also disturb the water lines. The best wrenches for safely working on such fittings, and that is what this GearWrench set is, have a gap that allows you to slide it over the tube, but still get much better contact with the flats on the nut than is possible with a standard open end wrench, that can only grip them on two sides. This risks damaging them and is especially critical when working with soft brass flare nuts and flexible brass tubing. This exceptionally well-engineered and finished set of Flare Nut Wrenches gets my solid recommendation.

Another well finished easy on the hand set of metric wrenches. That good finish makes clean up easy. I always liked these flare type wrenches because of their grip on the nut. Less breakage as they have much more contact with the work. These come in a nice tray. Sizes range from 9 to 21 mm. Each wrench has 2 sizes. I’ve used this style of wrench when working on my own cars and machinery. They are just the right length to get into small spaces yet big enough to help you get leverage.

These are a high quality metric wrench set. You can tell by the finish that these are not a cheap forged set of wrenches that will break when you first use them. I expect to get a lifetime of service from these. Years ago these were called line wrenches because of the open end design they can be used to loosen or tighten nuts used for compression fittings and the design works like a box wrench so there is less of a chance of damaging the compression nut the way an open wrench can.

The look and feel of the GearWrench 6-piece Flare Nut Wrench Set is superb although the smooth finish does make them slippery when oily or greasy. Wrench sizes range from 9mm to 21mm (there is no 20mm wrench end) and work great for hydraulic, automotive, plumbing or HVAC work. These offer a better grip than a typical open-end wrench because of two additional points of contact with the fitting and can reduce the chances of rounding off the corners of a fastener. This is important especially when working with hydraulic fasteners because these nuts are often made of a softer material. The sizes are stamped on both sides of the tool and have 15 degree angled ends for clearance in a tight spot. The blow-molded plastic case holds the wrenches securely and has the wrench sizes clearly displayed but is a bit too bulky to carry in a tool bag.

We all new that wasn’t really true, but we just could not justify the prices charged by those tool trucks. Well GearWrench has finally made that argument a point that is no longer valid. This metric flare nut wrench set goes from 9mm to 21mm and has made the tool truck an unnecessary purchase point. GearWrench Metric Flare Nut Wrench Set 6-Piece. These are made heavy duty with a good chrome finish and should last a long time I am glad to have them. The included storage box is also made heavy and not cheap it should hold your wrench’s without wearing out right away. These have a 15 degree offset and includes 12 sizes 9 mm – 11 mm, 10 mm – 12 mm, 13 mm – 14 mm, 15 mm x 17 mm, 16 mm – 18 mm, 12mm -21 mm.
