My husband was thrilled with this pliers, especially the grip as 16″ is long and the grip was easy on the hands to handle a large pliers like this. The notches to expand the pliers are well formed and when grabbing a large pipe in our front yard–this pliers came just in time with a landscaping pluming break!–it held, so many slip over but these held tightly and due to the size, made his repair easier. We tossed the old ones and are very happy to have this new company’s product.

I have had times when the standard pliers and the tongue and groove pliers just aren’t big enough to go around a pipe or whatever I need to wrench on. These say they are 4 1/2 inch capacity; I measured the edge opening at 3 3/4 inches. I just know that they are large enough to work on the well pipe (sch 40) that is 1, 1 1/2, and 2 inches. Now I can do the repairs myself instead of paying for having it done.

This 16 inch straight jaw tongue and groove pliers may not be and every day necessity but when you need one this wrech will do the trick. Positive interlocking tongue and groove design will not slip. With its rivet joint assembly it will not separate. Ten (10) jaw positions for max handle span. Meets and exceeds ASME requirements. Total capacity is 4 1/2 inches. Coated handles are comfortable on the hand.

I love my #82066 16″ Gear Wrench straight-jaw tongue and groove pliers. They are impressive! The jaws have 10 positions and allow up to a 4.5 inch capacity. The interlock for each adjustment is very positive and will not slip. They have great comfort grip handles and the rivet joint assembly will not separate. they are very well made and built to last. I’d definitely recommend them for the professional who gives them hard use, or the homeowner doing his own work. They come with a lifetime warranty.

The GearWrench 16 inch Straight Jaw Tongue and Groove Pliers seem to be a great bargain. Even though I’ve only used these for a few jobs the professional that would use these routinely would be happy with them and the limited lifetime warranty. I used these to take apart my galvanized twenty foot 2″ vent pipe with an accompanying pipe wrench and had no slippage. Then again I used them rotate a PTO shaft after a repair job and again no slippage with just small marring but not metal burring.These will not be something I will use much, but great to have when needed. How great is it to have something that if needed you could quickly grab and hold something 4 1/2″ thick without going around and trying to find or mount it in a clamp.The joint is riveted so you never have to worry about separation or it’s covered. The multiple teeth have a slight angle that help you grip as well as the rubberized handles.
