Unlike standard center fixed pliers these Gearwrench brand pivot action design really does require much less effort to cut. (40% less force to cut is the claim and I would say that is about right.)A side cut and needle nose plier are both included in this set, both of which are in a handy 8 inch size. Both have the easy clean dipped grips for more comfort in your hands and have a forged steel body that is induction hardened to stay sharp and provide a superior cutting edge to go along with the reduced effort pivot design.I gladly threw out some old junk pliers to make room in my toolbox for these 🙂

These Gear Wrench pliers and needle nose are great tools all of mine before these were 6″ type’. These are much bigger and stronger with a lot of extra power. Work well with all electrical work and many mechanical jobs. Very easy to carry in your pocket or tool pouch. The needle nose has a very good length to it, very easy to reach in small places and pickup small parts.

These gear wrench compound leverage pliers work quite good I was able to cut 3/16 diameter cold rolled wire with the diagonal cutters with some effort. The crosshatch ground teeth on the needle nose pliers close with a good grip and are nice and parallel when it fully closed you can hold a piece of paper almost all the way down to the bottom of the teeth. Both pair of pliers move freely with one hand although if you open the handles all the way they are too far apart for one hand to close but that’s rarely an issue. Pivot’s on both don’t have any play. coating on handles give a secure feel and seem well attached and with all that power I cut vinyl tube with a surprisingly clean cut.

Wow these two GEARWRENCH pliers are very high quality, I was not aware of this company before, but will be looking for other items from this company. The diagonal cutters and the needle nose pliers are so comfortable to hold, so easy to cut and use, really great set of tools. I used the needle nose to butt splice, worked great. I can’t believe what I was using before, so glad to add these to my tool set. Cuts like butter!

Sturdy, well made pliers. They get a very tight grip on what is being held (needle nose pliers). The cutters make cutting through wire and metal strips very easy as they have the compound action. The hinge on the pliers was very tight, making them hard to completely open. With some opening and closing plus some lube, they are starting to loosen some. Should work well for a long time.

This is a terrific set of forged steel compound action pliers that have come in super handy in which you get 8″ diagonal cutting pliers and 8″ long nose cutting pliers. The PivotForce compound action does provide more power and leverage while the pliers remain sleek without adding bulk. The claim is they require 40% less effort for the same cut which is difficult to distinguish but the action is smooth and positive. I like the dipped handle grips which make them really comfortable with a nice feel. I testing the cutting on each of the pliers, the hardened cutting edge provided a clean cut. The recommended maximum cutting is 12AWG wire but tried some 10AWG wire and cut it without any problems. If you are looking for a nice set of pliers for your tool box these would be a great addition.

I love my new GearWrench diagonal and needle nose compound pliers. The pliers are 8 inches long and requires 40% less effort to cut a 12 awg wire with the compound action. The cutting edge has been induction hardened for a longer life. I like the Easy-Cleaned dipped handle grips. The design of these pliers exceed ASME applicable requirements. I got these pliers to help my decreasing hand strength caused by arthritis.

This is a great set of pliers. Both the side cutters and the needle-nose pliers are comfortable to use, smooth to operate, and can cut wire with much more ease than traditional pliers due to their design. They are somewhat larger than traditional pliers, but the increased mechanical advantage is worth the increase in size. I cut several sizes of wire with these cutters, and it took very little effort. I even cut through a nail just to see how they would handle cutting through something tougher than wire, and they performed great. These are a great addition to my tool box.

Good quality pliers that I use as wire cutters for small wire up to number 2 wire and cutting tie wraps or other items that are wire or small metal. I use the other plier as basically needle nose pliers to pick up small items or to reach something I may have dropped in a difficult place to reach. These pliers are well made of hardened steel and are very durable and should be included in all household tool kits.

This is a nice set of combination pliers from GEARWRENCH. This set is perfect for the average homeowner, DIYer or even the professional. Highly recommend you include this in your toolkit! The compound action of both the wire cutters and needle nose pliers make it a breeze to cut through most materials without using much effort. Additionally, these pliers are a good size and weight — so they feel perfect in your hands. The rubber handles provide a nice grip. As I said earlier, definitely recommend!
