I was in search of new mallets and liked the variety in this set. The set comes with 5 different hammer and mallet tools for a variety of tasks. Each tool seems very solid and well made using quality material. The grips are comfortable in my hand and provide an adequate amount of protection from tool vibration. The quality seems more than adequate for a homeowner or DIY person. Really like the plastic blown case that organizes all of the tools and fit easily into my 3 inch drawer of my tool cart, as It stands about 2- 3/4 inch high. Great set to have around for multiple task around the home.

I will never want for a hammer and/or mallet again. This collection of hammers and mallets is what every homeowner needs. I do much of the handiwork around my place and my old claw hammer was used beyond it’s capacity and now that I have this set of hammers and mallets I will be able to have a better selection of the correct tool to use. I am very glad that I have this set. It is a good investment for any homeowner.

I needed this 5 PC. HAMMER AND MALLET SET for a variety of striking tasks around my house. I typically use the rubber mallet when I’m closing lids on paint cans. The ball pein is useful when I’m working with sheet metal, like the flashing on a roof or the metal ductwork in an HVAC system. The dead blow hammer, which I have yet to use, is weighted with shot. The soft force hammer has removable/replaceable faces; the GearWrench website states that replacement faces are available but I wasn’t able to locate them on the Home Depot website. The 3-lb “drilling” hammer is what I typically utilize as a sledge when I don’t need the full force of a 10-lb sledge. All five hammers and mallets have comfortable rubber grips. The tools have a rugged look and feel about them. I expect them to last a long time. The hard-plastic case is 20.5” W x 11.75” D and about 2.5” H with the tools. It fits in one of the drawers of my toolbox.Made in China

My future son-in-law confessed that he has no tools of his own so I took the opportunity to get him this 5-piece hammer set manufactured by GearWrench. Manufactured in Taiwan. They are very reputable and I have several of their tools in my own toolbox. The young man was absolutely thrilled to start his tool collection with a hammer for any task at hand. He held each hammer comfortably in his hands and the fiberglass handles and grips were a perfect fit. The only thing that could be better would be the inclusion of a claw hammer for pulling nails, but for his birthday I may pick him up a small prybar or claw hammer made by GearWrench. .

I love this Hammer and Mallet set. The set include most any hammer or mallet that you might need in your garage or shop. They are all built very sturdy for years of use. I love the idea of the set comes with a sturdy storage tray that can be placed in your roll around and keep them organized and from cluttering up the drawer. I would recommend this set for any do it yourself-er or professional.

This is a good set of hammers. I have a good claw hammer and one for upholstery, but these make for a complete set for a do-it-yourselfer. These came in real handy as my youngest recently bought a house and it needed a lot of cosmetic fixing. The dead blow hammer worked wonderfully hammering together some window screens that had pulled apart (tried the rubber mallet, but it had too much bounce-though perfect for putting some cheaper type furniture together without denting and marking them up!). No bounce with the dead blow when hitting the pieces together and no marring! Have been using the drilling hammer with a punch working on the deck. Looking forward to using the soft face and ball pein hammers. I think these would make a great new (or old-like me!) home owners gift!

A hammer for every need! What a great set. Everyone has a claw hammer for woodworking, and we normally use that hammer for things for which it was never intended. Now, I have a complete set of hammers to accomplish anything, from a mini sledge for working with stone chisels to a rubber mallet for tapping wood together, a ball peen hammer for working with metal, and others for any type requirement. One time purchase that satisfies all your needs.

Hammer and Mallet Set (5-Piece) – The set consists of quality made and useful tools for just about anyone, but is better geared to homeowners and people starting to build a tool collection. The drilling hammer is 3 lbs. and the ball pein at 16 oz. are both common sized hammers and regularly used. The rubber mallet and dead blow are a somewhat light at 16 oz. each; not that this is bad, but a little heavier mallet is more useful. The soft faced mallet is nice to have for a light touch. Not that it is used frequently but is there when you need it.The tools come in a reusable storage tray that conveniently keeps them together in one place.

Nice useful assortment of the most common hammers. The ones you would most likely damage (ball peen, drilling, and deadblow) have nice fiberglass handles to prevent decapitation (of the hammer, not you). The rubber mallet and non-marring hammer probably won’t be used in a “smack the snot out of it” situation so their wood and tubular steel handles should be fine. What I really liked was the tray they arrived in. I thought I could use it to hang the set from pegboard (to make myself look just a tiny bit more organized). The molded in tabs on the tray are near the front edge so using those to hang this set would put a lot of pressure on the pegboard (see photo below). My storage issues aside, this is a typical well made set of tools from Gearwrench.
