Like the handles and magnetic tips; these were to replace older screwdrivers with worn tips ans bad ratcheting gears.

I’ve had 3-4 other ratcheting screwdrivers and never used them much because they didn’t seem to work well. However once I tried out this Gearwrench ratcheting screwdriver, it was very nice to use. I keep it right on my benchtop now to grab whenever I need. They have some nicer ones than this one as well.

Overall I love the product. The only thing I was surprised was that there was no blade bit. Other than that it fits my hands perfectly and the ratcheting action is a welcome addition to this tool.

Pros- The screwdriver shaft is interchangeable like Snap-On. It holds the tips inside the handle and the space inside is quite large which is really nice. The ratcheting mechanism is great… larger tooth count which makes it comparable to professional Craftsman or Snap-On drivers. I love how it works and the soft grip handle is just as good as my Snap-On. Best thing though is the absolutely great price. Cons- The screwdriver shaft comes off way too easily. It’s not held in tight and I’ve almost lost it multiple times. The whole screwdriver is very long but not off-putting. The rear cap for the tip storage is not screw on type. It’s a slight twist lock that makes it feel unsafe but it hasn’t popped open on me yet… so… time will tell. The down side of the twist lock is that since it doesn’t unscrew enough, it’s hard to pull off. I have to shove my nail in the slight gap to be able to separate the cap from the handle. Negatives aside, I like the screwdriver and believe it’s well worth the 20 bucks. I’m an aircraft mechanic and use this thing constantly every day so the negatives get old for me but it’s a great driver in general. I would indeed recommend this.
