This 1/2 inch drive set of impact sockets are quite unique. The sockets all have a universal built in which allows you to get onto nuts/bolts in more places than a normal straight impact socket would get. They have a lifetime warranty and they feel very substantial. I like the markings that can be read easily as they are white on a dark metal finish.

These impact sockets range in size from 10 mm to 24mm, without any skipped sizes, all with 1/2″ drive. These flex sockets work on an angle very smoothly without binding, even with heavy impact use, in forward or reverse. These are just as useful for non-impact situations where a flexible socket is needed to reach hard to access bolts. Combine these with an extension and you can reach almost any automotive fastener. Once you use these, you will wonder how you ever lived with out these time savers. The 6 point socket head design grips the fastener without causing the fasteners corners to round off or to strip. The only drawback with these sockets is the advertised “high visibility” identification, this is actually a long serial number printed on the side with the size embedded in the serial number and it makes it un-useful ( example: 84615N = 15 mm socket), however there is a stamped size marking on the side that is just as easy to see, however the case keeps everything in order and easy to manage. The storage case is made of plastic with robust clasps to keep the case locked. The sockets are made in Taiwan, but are very high quality. The lifetime warranty combined with the fair price makes these sockets a great value and a must have for any professional or shade tree mechanic.

I have used a cheaper set but they alway seemed to fall apart but the gear wrench is a high equality tool

These universal sockets work very well for me, the only thing I would do to improve on them would be on the smaller sizes have the universal joint be a little smaller, I am sure they use the same size for cost and strength but…. The 6 point socket with the “flank” drive has given me no problems with slipping or rounding off nuts or bolts. I like the fact that they include ALL of the sizes between 10 mm and 24 mm unlike some other “sets” where they pick the sizes they think you will want. These have the hole that will lock onto a impact extension so they will not go flying off. The case is quite nice and make of nice plastic that does not feel cheap or flimsy, the case uses metal latches that are quite solid and a LOT better than the plastic ones. The size is stamped into the socket and is easy to read, it is also stamped deep enough that it should never wear off. The sockets are about 2 1/2 inches long and about 1 inch in diameter at the universal joint. They can angle up to about 27 degrees, the universal part of the sockets have a decent sized drive bar and even on some very tight bolts with a pretty healthy impact did not bend or break. All in all a very decent set that I like a lot.

For the average home mechanic, these sockets will work just fine. However, I was under the impression these were spline driven wobble sockets and NOT pinned wobble sockets. Pinned are NOT as strong. I was looking for the splined designed in these sockets. I am NOT a professional mechanic but do an extensive amount of wrenching on cars. These should work fine but I should have done my homework first to ensure I was getting what I wanted.
