This is a very inovative set of ratcheting combo ( box end and open end)wrench set! A new design they call X Beam, allows the flat of the wrench to lay in your hand instead of the edge of the tool(like most wrenches). This means less strain on your hand. Also the ratcheting head is on a slight angle that gives you greater control on the nut. This angle helps place your thumb in a position that is adjacent to the lever, which changes the direction of the ratchets. This set is the SAE XL, which means the wrench is longer, allowing you to reach into tighter areas, you would have difficulty getting to with regular wrenches, while allowing for 25% more torque power. The ratcheting mechanism needs only 5 degrees to a click, which is very nice! The tools have a lifetime warranty and are the first tested and approved by the American Arthritis Foundation( which helps us older guys, lol).These are a welcome addition to my workshop, and highly recommend them to mechanics and especially those working in the transmission business…

Excellent set of wrenches to have in your tool chest. The length and design of the X Beam makes these much stronger, and much more comfortable than other brands. Kit has all the common sizes which is nice. The reversible lock makes switch direction very easy and the mechanisms seems very sturdy and smooth. Definitely would recommend this product to everyone.

You couldn`t ask for a better set of tools. This 9 piece gearwrench x bean reversible ratchet wrench set you can’t beat. The ratchet part will take a lot of pressure in breaking bolts loose and keep on working. I even like the idea where you have a open end wrench on the opposite end of the wrench this helps alot. I tried these out on my car that I was working on. They are a perfect weight and balance and a very nice chrome finish. You can put alot torque in these wrenches and they do keep working you want go wrong in getting this set of tools.

These X-Beam are incredible! They are longer then normal wrenches and the extra length helps for great leverage. The are very comfortable to use because of the X design. The ratchet closed end of these wrenches make these a must have. The wrenches come in a very ridged hard plastic case that will last forever, each wrench has its own place and the nicely click into their place to stay sturdy and in place during transport. I highly recommend this wrench set.

This is the 9-Piece X-beam reversible ratcheting SAE wrench set. These wrenches have an extra long handle that provides for plenty of torque when tightening or loosing nut and bolts. The extra length also makes it easier to hold onto and not lose your grip. Additionally, these wrenches are constructed with reversible and ratcheting box ends that allow you to easily change the direction of motion with a simple movement of the lever. The wrench sizes are standard SAE 5/16, 11/32, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, 9/16, 5/8, 11/16 and 3/4 in. These are made from high quality steel with a shiny chrome finish. Great addition to your tool set, recommended.

This is a great set of reversible ratcheting wrenches – the angled handles get your knuckles out of the way (see photo) The x-beam adds another great feature – they feel more comfortable in the hand because of the increased width in the palm of your hand – the increased length of these wrenches give you more leverage as well. When compared to a conventional length combination ratcheting wrench the lengths are noticeably longer (see photo – both are 9/16” size) the physical thicknesses and widths are similar to the conventional wrench, but the open end wrench thickness of the GearWrench 9/16” wrench measured only 0.29” thick vs 0.34” of the conventional ratcheting wrench – a standard hex nut is 0.33” thick.The open end wrenches have “reliefs” cut into the flats (see photo) – conceptually similar to the “flank drive” design – putting stress on the flanks of the hex head instead of the points (see photo)Each wrench has its size clearly stamped on 3 sides of the wrench (see photo) which makes identifying the wrench size very easy.This 9 piece SAE set is nested in a blow molded tray and which securely holds each wrench in place. The tray has folding tabs on two sides allowing hanging from a pegboard – the tab spacing is 4” and 8” on center. The tabs snap back onto the sides of the tray if not needed.

There is a lot to like about this ratcheting box wrench set. The first picture shows that it took a little beating along its travels, but most wrenches stayed secure. The second pic shows them all in their proper home. So, the wrenched themselves are a good quality, they have a relatively coarse ratchet action, which is ok, but in a tight place a finer click would be beneficial. I tried them on a few bolts around the house and the wrenches performed well. The finish is polished and it is good, but I have seen a better finish on other brands. I absolutely love that these come in their own holder. I hate buying wrenches and then spending more money to store them. They case is about about 13 inches wide which makes it too long to store sideways in a tool cabinet drawer but it does fit long ways in a cabinet. which kind of eats up space. but the storage tray itself is a nice quality and not a throwaway. Overall this is a really nice set of wrenches at a very fair price.

After getting these I got rid of my non ratcheted non X style wrenches. Not all of them of course but the ease of using these is night and day. With the simple twist innovation there is less fatigue and less effort needed for the same work as before. You basically have a flat handle to get some leverage on. I kept some old ones just to hold the other side. The chrome finish is good. The ratchets are smooth and the direction lever handy while you can flip it change direction you don’t have to.

It seems they know tools better than just about anybody in relation to how the person who needs the tool actually uses it.This ratcheting wrench set is certainly no exception. First, it’s a RATCHETING wrench! How cool is that! You get the ratcheting end over the nut or bolt and off you go, easy as pie! Want to take the nut back off again for some reason?
