GearWrench 8pc. SAE Ratcheting Box and Open End Combination Wrench Set.I received this Gear Wrench 8pc. set from Home Depot Seeds program to try out. I am very impressed with the quality of this wrench set. Using the box end part of the wrench set is very easy to use, just turn over the wrench to either side to tighten or loosen the fastener. How easy is that, the ratcheting teeth are very close so you don’t have to move the handle much to pick up the next tooth, good for tight placesOpen end has a small cut out with a spring loaded detent to allow another bite without removing from fastener, again turn over wrench to change directions.

good wrench set for the great price. Fit and rachet well. An offset to the rachet would help in tight places, against a flat surface. I like the wrenches.

The GearWrench Open and Box End Ratcheting Wrench Set (8-Piece) brings a very nice/new feature to this already tried and true shop tool. The Open End inside fastener face has a spring loaded lock pin that allows for torque to be applied to the nut in one direction (CW or CCW), then backs out of the way when you are ready to reset the handle position for another bite…COOL! Thus the Boxed-end closed side AND the Open-end side offer Full Ratcheting actions, so you never need to remove the wrench when torquing the nut…Amazing! These hand tool wrenches have a durable polished chrome finish, offer a comfortable ergonomic grip and in use, work smoothly with all the torque ability you’ll need to get the job done safer and faster!!

This 8 piece wrench set is very useful for working in an area where there’s not much maneuverability or where a normal socket can’t. Once the wrench is in place, the ratcheting feature allows you to turn nuts and bolts quickly without removing the tool and having to reposition it. Without that feature, you’d have to slowly move a nut or bolt 1/8 of a turn at a time, repositioning it each time. It’s also great for the long bolts and threaded rods that are too deep for a deep socket. The ratcheting head allows the wrench to move up and down along the length of the thread without removing it. It makes the job quicker and easier. The 8 pcs SAE set comes in 5/16″, 3/8″, 7/16″, 1/2″, 9/16″, 5/8″, 11/16″, and 3/4″. They are very sturdy feeling. These wrenches come in a great carrying case.

This is a great wrench set to add to your tool kit. The small features make it a great addition to have on hand. The open ended side has a small notch to prevent you from stripping bolts. So nice to have! The ratcheting end is great for getting in tight spaces. The wrenches themselves are sturdy and have a good weight to them. The set of 8 is more than enough to get the job done!Great for beginners or more seasoned DIYers alike.

Pretty awesome set of wrenches. They ratchet on both sides! The closed and the open end. I had no idea that was possible. More often than not I need an open end when I’m working on my cars. These do the job. I haven’t had them very long so I’m not sure how they will hold up but they feel just as sturdy as my craftsman tools. I’m guessing they will last a lifetime

These ratcheting wrenches are different than those I have had before. I expected the ratcheting to be limited to the box end of the wrench but it is not. I like the fact that the open end ratchets, too, but be aware that it works a little different. The open-end ratchet mechanism requires you to slide the wrench on to the bolt/nut, rather than place it over the top (like you would a box wrench). Not a problem for me but just different. Also, like a box end ratchet, it only works in one position, tighten or loosen. The wrench is marked so it makes it easy.I really like how these work. The fit and quality are good and, once I got used to it, I really like the ratcheting open end.

These are much nicer than I was expecting them to be. I was going to keep them in my truck tool box for emergencies or when I’m away from the shop, but these are going to see primary shop duty. The design is great. The open end side only requires 5 degrees to start applying torque, so these are perfect for getting into tight spots with little side clearance. Also the 72 tooth engagement on the ratcheting end is really nice. Even more control in tight spaces if you can slip the box end over a bolt. The mechanism feels stout. The fit and finish on these is really nice. No pitting or mico cracks in the steel that I can see. The case can be hung on the wall too
