5-Piece X-Large Gearbox Double Box End metric ratcheting wrench set is an add-on set for 85988. The ratcheting box end needs as little as 5-Degree to move the fastener as opposed to 30-Degree for standard box end wrenches. The standard box end combined with the long pattern length gives this wrench excellent torque capabilities to break a stubborn, rusted fastener. The ratcheting box end then makes the loosening or tightening of the fastener fast and safe. The box end features improved strength from GearWrench Surface Drive technology and at the same time, reduces fastener rounding. These double box end ratcheting wrenches are made from premium alloy steel for a precision, long lasting tool. The set comes packed in a blow molded tray that fits nicely in your tool box.

These are really nice. The long length gives you leverage to bust bolts loose with ease and then flip it over and use the ratcheting end to take it the rest of the way out fast. I have nothing bad to say about these wrenches. Gearwrench is quickly growing on me. As a professional industrial technician, I always have payed alot for usa made high end tools. In the past few years, I have slowly been filling in my toolbox with gearwrench. They make some really decent tools for the price.

I have been a builder and remodeler for 50 years, and of course I often have a need to use a wrench. So when I saw this, the GEARWRENCH GEARBOX ADD ON WRENCH SET (5-PIECE), I was interested. I often use wrenches in my work, and I’ve always liked the gear wrench tools. I like this set, especially with the ball ends, and the gear wrench brand in general is always nice quality too. I definitely recommend this!

The GearWrench metric 5 piece extra large size wrench set is the perfect addition to your garage toolbox, especially if you have the need for metric sizes 20mm, 21mm, 22mm, 24mm & 25mm. The wrenches feature a standard box end as well as a ratchet end. They are finished in bright chrome and their exctra long length allows for extra torque to be applied when working with large bolts & nut fasteners. They come packaged in a strong, molded plastic tray with secure slots for each wrench. The box is easily stored in a tool box drawer or on top of your work counter. This set came in very handy recently for me in completing some suspension work on one of my older vehicles. Good product!

I have been buying GearWrench tools as needs arise for about the last year and a half. I needed some large metric combination wrenches and chose this 5 Pc set. The sizes start with 20 mm and go to 25 mm. The 20 mm is 16 inches long and the 25 mm is 18.5 inches long. The chrome.finish is very nice and will not rust easily. The ratcheting ends are precise and only require a 5 degree movement to ratchet for working in tight places. I have lots of Snap on tools and I feel the GearWrench are comparable in quality.

The extra length provides better leverage (torque) when loosening or tightening bolts on equipment. They come in a 11 7/8” x 20 5/8” molded-plastic case that can be slipped into a drawer for storage. This is a nice set and will come in handy while working on the large farm equipment and trucks.

GearWrench Extended Size Metric Box End Wrench with Ratcheting EndThe moment I opened the package containing these wrenches, which covers the sizes between 20mm and 25mm I felt I had to fight to hold on to them. It seems heavy equipment mechanic have only a few possible suppliers. The advantage GearWrench added to each of these wrenches is they have both a solid box end wrench. The other end is equipped with a ratcheting box end wrench. Every heavy equipment mechanic I have spoken to, immediately wants to know what size range is available in SAE and Metric. The next question is where can I find those sizes. It seems either Home Depot or GearWrench needs to make a larger wrench and socket size listing available for the market that is hungry for suppliers.

Husband is his own mechanic and keeps our cars in excellent running condition, despite the fact they’re 10 and 16 years old. For anyone who’s done car repair, sometimes it takes real effort to break loose bolts. For example, he replaced the old trailer hitch on a 16-year old Jeep. Road salt, moisture, and just age looked to a make this a hard task. After a soaking with rust solvent, he was able to get the bolts broken loose easier than he anticipated. The wrenches are nice tools. They have one end that has a fixed ratchet and the other end has a uni-directional ratchet that allows you to flip it over to tighten or loosen as needed, The tools have a smooth finish and a good size and weight. They handle the abuse of using through the daily use on vehicle maintenance. The wrenches also come with a nice storage case. The case is not very space conscious so if you may ditch it and thrown them in your toolbox or hang on a pegboard.
