I own several brands of ratcheting wrenches including GearWrench regular, GearWrench XL, Husky, and Milwaukee. In terms of overall quality, these are at the top along with the XL and Milwaukee. The main difference between these and the XL is the tooth count. These are 60 teeth dual pawl, giving 120 positions and added strength. The XL’s are 72 teeth single pawl, giving 72 positions. The XL also has regular 12 point ratcheting box end, whereas these have a spline drive oh the ratcheting box end.So I’ll be comparing these with the Milwaukee.- In terms of overall length, these are by far the longest ratcheting wrenches I own. To get this kind of leverage in another brand, you’re likely looking at the tool trucks. – The ratcheting” mechanism is impressively smooth and tight. I would say it’s a bit smoother than the Milwaukee’s, though neither is rough. The Milwaukee’s are 100 positions.- The open end is an upgrade to thx regular GearWrench / Husky, having the Surface Drive technology to improve fastener grip and reduce rounding. The Milwaukee’s have teeth on their open end and a cutout to seat the fastener. I would guess the Milwaukee’s are a little more effective, but in reality, both work on the vast majority of fasteners, even those somewhat deformed and rust welded.- the bar itself has the somewhat pronounced edges, whereas Milwaukee’s are rounded. Grip is fine on both and more a personal preference.- the drive on the ratcheting end of these is spline, whereas the Milwaukee’s are regular 12 point. Some people don’t like spline for one reason or another, but I’ve had zero issues using these on any fastener be it rusty or slightly deformed. And they do work on the other types listed, which is handy in a pinch. When it comes down to it, I’d have to give these a slight edge over the Milwaukee’s mainly because of the length but also because their ratcheting is just a bit more refined. And spline doesn’t bother me as of yet. Some other things I like are the markings are engraved, ensuring they won’t wear off, and I prefer the canvas wrench roll they come with to the carrying tray that other brands offer. One thing I didn’t like was no 18mm. I sometimes run into that size on Jeep suspensions. The 16 is also missing, but that’s less common.Overall great pro grade wrenches for a reasonable price.

I received the 8 piece 120XP Metric Ratcheting Wrench Set. The first thing I noticed was the smooth & awesome looking finish. I like the extra length these wrenches, it will make it easier to loosen tightened bolts & nuts. It’s also nice that the sizes on each wrench is stamped & colored blue with a large easy to read size on them. It came with a nice nylon roll-up pouch to store them in. These will be great to use in any garage or for home projects. They have a Lifetime Warranty too.

The GEARWRENCH 8 pc.120XP Metric Ratcheting Combination Wrench Set is very well made, each wrench having a long handle providing excellent leverage. The ratcheting box end can accommodate the head of any common bolt or almost any other similar metric fastener that I own. I used the ratcheting box end in assembling a miter saw stand, and the ratcheting head saved an incredible amount of time and physical labor effort compared to the use of an open-end or traditional combination wrench, due to its advantage in operating in limited turning space. The size of each wrench is stamped in large, easy-to-read blue numerals, and the entire set can be stored in the provided sturdy canvas storage pouch, with a specific slot for each wrench. The set includes metric sizes 8mm, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, and 19mm. Finally, the grommeted pouch can be mounted on my garage pegboard.

When A major tool supplier in our town closed; it left many of us wondering where to go for tools. The answer is believe it or not; Home Depot. Once I saw the ease of use of the ratcheting wrenches; I was sold. The local thift store was the receipient of my old wrench as the space in my tool box was reassigned to these more useful and ” new ” replacements. Having used box and open ended wrenchs for year; I was very happy with these ratcheting wrenches. With the ratchet, there is no need to remove and reposition the wrench. An added bonus is if you turn it over, it works in reverse. No more switches on my sockets; and when it comes to tight places; these wrenches are perfect for getting between a couple pieces of lumber to tighten a loose nut or bolts. Definitely a keeper in my book.

I love ratcheting wrenches. This set in particular is great. They have longer handles which gives you more leverage for breaking loose highly torqued bolts. They also have 120 positions which is amazing for such a small wrench. The lower end brands only have 72 positions. That makes a difference when you are working in tight engine bays. I have the metric set since all my cars use metric sizes. I would recommend every home mechanic have a set of ratcheting wrenches like these.

When I ordered the wrench set, I thought I was only getting the wrenches, but they came with this nice roll up pouch that you can either roll up and tie, or it as gromets that you could mount on a wall or peg board. The wrenches have the ability of working in tight places with very restricted movement back and forth. They look great well-polished and very heavy duty feel to them. And they have a lifetime warrantee! Notice the teeth and not flat spots to be able to grip with just a slight movement in tight places. Very helpful.

What I really like about these wrenches is that they are just a bit longer than usual. This allows you to apply more leverage to loosen stuck bolts or nuts. The finish is nice and smooth. No rough edges to knick or cut your hands during use. The ratchet box works really nice. No switch to flip. Just turn the wrench over and the ratchet is reversed! Nice price point for this many wrenches too! Excellent buy. You can’t go wrong with this purchase.

I have a few ratcheting wrenches made by another company, but they are not as long as these GearWrench 120XP Metric Ratcheting Wrench Set (8-Piece) wrenches are, and they are not as clearly marked. I like the extra length these wrenches give you, for added leverage on extra-tight bolts and nuts. I love the ratcheting feature on this type of wrench a lot; especially when you are working blind in a confined space. Having these wrenches marked so clearly is a very nice feature in itself, when reaching into a drawer full of wrenches for a particular size. The roll-up pouch they include is a nice touch as well. All in all, these GearWrench wrenches are a fabulous addition to my tool-chest! They would make a great gift idea for the working man or woman in your life! Thanks GearWrench, and Home Depot!

These are really nice ratcheting metric wrenches. I’ve wanted ratcheting wrenches for a long time, and finally got around to getting some and couldn’t be happier. The quality is excellent …the ratcheting mechanism seems precision-made, the wrenches are a little longer than most wrenches for a little extra torque, and the finish is polished to a mirror shine. The nylon pouch is very heavy-duty, which will really protect the ratcheting mechanism on the wrenches. Overall, a really great product.

Nice long handles with a very small swing on the ratcheting end. My old Gear wrenches have a 5 degree swing and these have a 3 degree swing. It may not seem like much but for those times you can barely stuff a wrench in a small space that extra bit is fantastic. They even put paint in the size markings to make them easier to see. If I could have one thing it would be for a complete size set. This one is missing the 11mm, 16mm, and 18mm. It all depends on what you work on but I have some equipment at wort that is mostly the three missing sizes. I got these to keep at home so it doesn’t cause too much problem but all of the sizes would be nice.
