This a great 20 piece socket set for the home handyman/mechanic. This is a 12 twelve point socket set that gives a really good grip on hex bolts. Sockets are in Metric and US standard sizes. 8 mm to 16 mm and 1/4 to 3/4. It also comes with a 6 inch extension with a swivel end. This allows the socket to swivel slightly allowing you a slight offset in hard to reach places.(nice feature). The other thing I like about the handle besides being tapered for a good grip it also has a locking feature allowing the socket to lock on and not slip off. To put on or take off the socket you simply depress the button on the handle head. Great buy !!!!!

This ratchet and socket set is extremely high quality. Its a good weight and comfortable in your hand because of the size and the tapered handle. The base of the ratchet is magnetized (this was an unmentioned surprise). Very smooth operation and the sockets grip really well. The 20 pieces include the ratchet, the extension and 18 (12 pt) sockets that range from 5/16 mm (smallest) to 17 mm.This should last a long time.

It has been my experience that sockets get lost sometimes or strip out, and ratchets fail over time. This set includes one 3/8 inch drive ratchet, one 6 inch extension, 9 SAE sockets, and 9 Metric sockets. On some ratchets I have owned, the socket would sometimes fall off unexpectedly, or it was very difficult to remove if covered in grease and oil. The Gearwrench ratchet in this set has a button that releases the socket. I rate the ratchet excellent. The sockets have unique markings to quickly identify whether each one is SAE or Metric. They also have something called, “Surface Drive technology” which protects bolt heads and nuts from stripping. Some of that has to do with the manufacturing process where the size tolerances are precise. This should also reduce the wear on the sockets as well. Metric sizes include 15 and 17 but not 16 (0.630). However, 5/8 inch (0.625) size is included in the SAE.

Here is a nice all-in-one mechanic’s socket set complete with ratchet and wobble extension. All the popular sizes are included, and they all fell like they are very high quality. The packaging doubles as a carrier for all pieces. The only problem I had was opening it, as the socket retainers are difficult to remove, and this resulted in me losing the 5/16″ socket (I’m sure it will turn up). Sockets are 12 point, which seems redundant with a ratchet, 6 point might be better. The wobble extension makes getting int those tight spots easy. Ratchet has good positive action and a socket release push button on it. This set is super handy for working on automobiles. I gave them a good workout this weekend!

This Huskey socket set is very handy for a do it your selfer. It comes with 5/16 th.. to 13/16″ SAE and8 mm to 17 mm metric sockets a 6″ extension and ratchet all are 3/8″ drive in a nice plastic tray. This makes it easy for us wanna bee mechanics to always have the right socket at the job site. The sizes are a little hard to see on the sockets, but hold it up to light and they’re readable.

The Gear Wrench 20 piece 3/8 inch Drive SAE/Metric Ratchet and Socket set is a good basic set for around the house repair projects or simple auto repairs… The quick release feature is a plus for easily removing sockets… the set includes a 6 inch extension, 9 SAE sockets from 5/16 to 13/16 , 9 Metric sockets ranging from #8 to #7 mm and an 8 inch long ratchet. Plus it has a poorly designed socket organizer/keeper packet.

This is a review of the 3/8 in. Drive SAE/Metric Ratchet and Socket Set (20-Piece). This is a pretty nice set. It has most of your metric and SAE sockets in the set. It is pretty easy to read what size it is off the side of the socket. The handle feels comfortable. The ratchet moves not as smoothly as some other models that I have. I do like how the the sockets feel when they pop on and off the ratchet or the extension. It is a very serviceable kit.

This is a handy little self contained socket set with pretty much all the sockets you might need for light to medium repair jobs. It also provides a ready made storage unit for the various components that will eliminate a lot of otherwise wasted time fishing around in a toolbox through all those loose sockets you absolutely were going to organize the last time you needed one. Really handy item.

If you’re looking for a good price set of commonly used socket, this is a good buy. I like the 12 point sockets and they are marked clearly on the Metric sockets, but the SAE sockets size is very hard to read. The ratchet is good quality and I like the push button lock for sockets. I like the wobble extension as well. This would be a nice addition to your toolbox. The lifetime warranty insures me this set will be around a long time.

This Gearwrench 3/8” drive 20 piece socket set is just what I needed. I was working on a project last summer and could not find one single complete set of sockets. I ordered 4 sets plus an extra set of ratchets so this will never happen again. This has an ok case but they do fall out if flipped over. It was also a workout to get all the security tags cut off.
