GEARWRENCH DOES IT AGAIN with a really quality tool set. They listen to the ideas and needs of the working man also. The SAE sockets are color coded for each size but the metric are all one color. The handle is stubby but still large enough to fill my hand and I have average size hands. The ratchet control is super handy and easy. Just a slight turn using thumb and forefinger. It is even easy enough to use just one finger to turn. The drawback is you can easily change it while using it on a job and that can be irritating. While the carry case is handy it rattles loudly so I put some thin foam on the top to reduce rattling.

Some of my reviews of Gearwrench have been lackluster not because of the tools but what the tools come in…containers that allow the pieces to fall out freely and mix. I hope they have been listening to their customers because the last two products have come in sturdy containers that do not allow them to get scrambled. This ratcheting screwdriver nut driver not only does the job when you have to be careful tightening by hand but the standard fits powered drivers as well.

GearWrench Ratcheting Nut Driver Set (16 per Pack) This is a super nice quality set of ¼ inch drive ratcheting nut drivers. The soft textured handle gives me a firm grip and they feel good in my hand. They have a fine 45 tooth 8 degree swing smooth ratcheting mechanism and has the sound and definition of what I would expect in a quality tool. You can set the ratchet direction with a slight movement from your thumb for right or left and the middle position locks the shaft for use as manual nut driver. These all have the bright and smooth chrome finish typical of a quality tool and what I expect from GearWrench tools. The driver shafts have color coded banding for the SAE sizes (7) 3/16″, 1/4″, 5/16″, 11/32″, 3/8″, 7/16″, & 1/2″ Metric nut driver shafts are all with black bands (8) 5mm, 6mm, 7mm, 8mm, 9mm, 10mm, 11mm, & 12mm. There is extra clearance inside the shafts for the threaded shaft to protrude as you tighten the nut. All shafts are clearly stamped with the nut size SAE & MM. I wish they were magnetized, but they are not. All fits neatly in a black case with a firm snap closure. I put the whole box in my roll around chest, but you can also just use the blow molded insert without the case to keep them organized if your drawer depth is too shallow for the case. I will use these allot in my shop for all those times I don’t want or need to use a wrench. You could even use them with a powered screw driver accepting ¼” drive shafts. Limited manufacturer warranty, made in Taiwan, nice qualitity.

This Gearwrench set of Nut Drivers is fantastic. Eight metric and seven SAE drivers, with a ratching handle, will be fine for light and medium chores. I do enough repairs and cleaning of tools, etc., that these will come in handy rather than using a one quarter inch normal ratchet with extention and socket. a very nice storage case that will let me put this in my tool box and take the entire set to the job.

This review is for the GearWrench Ratcheting Screwdriver Nut Driver Set (16 per Pack). Whether you are a DIY homeowner, hobbyist or mechanic, this set is for you. The set is made to last and the quality is bar none. Great tool, the ratcheting handle can lock into position for tightening, loosening, and also will lock into simply a nut driver that doesn’t ratchet at all! The handle has a nice ergonomic design and is a bit oversized to give you a better grip. The nut driver bits are well marked for easy identification. They are also color coded, half are SAE and the other half are metric. GearWrench also backs the set with a 10 year limited warranty.

A great set of metric and imperial measurement nut drivers. The handle is oversized for firm grip to turn tough nuts. Not as strong as a rachet wrench but very good for around the home repairs. A great add to a handyman’s tool set and perfect for a new home craftsman. It’s all well and good until you have a 10 mm nut you need to drive to get your flat screen mount installed. Highly recommend!

This gearwrench ratcheting nut-driver set is a very handy tool, with a very small footprint -one handle for all sizes. Although the ‘set’ includes a case, I chose to only use the removable fitted insert to keep the parts together in the tool box. The ratchet selector is conveniently located, and has a center, locked (non ratchet) position. The interchangeable shafts are hollow to a reasonable depth to permit setting a nut on longer screws, as is often the case when a ‘nut driver’ is the tool of choice. Also, the 1/4″ square drive system is the same for all similar gearwrench tool sets: shaft extensions, flex shafts, 1/4″ hex bit drivers, full size and Tee handle, etc; all also capable of use with any other manufacture (standard) 1/4″ drive sockets, and other accessories. I’ve enjoyed working with nut drivers for ages on those particular projects that allow their use, but this is a way cool RATCHETING nut driver set from GEARWRENCH and is pure luxury! The GEARWRENCH people are continuing to impress me with their forethought into how the end user actually works with tools. In this case, the ratcheting handle can lock into tightening, loosening, and also will lock into simply a nut driver that doesn’t rathet at all!The nut driver ‘bits’ themselves are strong and well marked so you won’t go blind guessing which one you’re picking up. They’re also color coded, in a way, to help your selection. The handle fits ergonomically into your hands and feels great. If you often use a nut driver, treat yourself to this set. You’ll love working with it!

I needed a small set of nut drivers for work and did not want them to take up much room in the tool box. This is a good answer for my problem. The nut driver set has 7 SAE and 8 metric sizes for the driver head. I like how it’s color coded for SAE and metric. Metric is color banded in black and SAE is multi colored by size. I like the set, it was a good buy.

Another good product from Gearwrench, great quality that functions perfectly. The Gearwrench 16 pc. SAE/Metric nut driver set comes in a nice carry case that holds 8 Metric (5mm-12mm) and 7 imperial or SAE (3/16 – ½”) nut drive shafts. The inside tray is removable from the case so you can store the whole set in a tool box drawer without giving up the organizational benefit. Each nut driver shaft is color coded for the SAE and black for the metric. The depth of the socket is approx. ½” for the larger and 3/8” for the smallest shafts. All shafts are ¼” drive and have a detent ball to help it stay in the handle. The ratcheting handle is comfortable to hold and shaped very well to allow for you to apply some torque. The handle has a left-right or on-off ratchet selector with it being locked (will ratchet neither way) if the selector is left in the middle. The actual shafts are high polished and look to be well made and show no manufacturing defects or issues. The handle is the same, well made no visible issues. Functionally I tried the set on several fasteners, and it worked perfectly no issues. This is a very nice set, well made and at a good price point. Recommended.

This set is for Mechanic use or the home owner handyman. Great for Hobbyist also. Good quality and made to last. These are great for where you cannot use a ratchet but want the speed of a socket. Half are color coded SAE and the other half are Metric. The handle is large enough to get a good grip and apply some torque. The carrying case is a hard plastic that is useful for carrying around or storage without the pieces falling out. Gearwrench gives you a Limited Lifetime Warranty which is great if you ever need it. I would highly recommend this 16 piece nut driver set. Good price and great quality.
