I found this set to be of good quality. All of the handles, extensions, and flexible shafts are well built and look clean. It take a few minutes to figure out how the pieces work together, but afterwards it is easy to pop together the needed length.I like the t-handle with a flexible shaft. It allows me to access screws (back of washing machine) with ease and transfers torque better than expected. The bit holder has a belt clip to free up your hands if necessary while working at heights. The case is a sturdy hard plastic. This would be an ideal tool set for people who work on equipment and hard to reach fasteners. I am very impressed with the quality and usefulness of the set. I would recommend it.

Well made ratcheting systems seem to be quality. Bits are a little cheaply made. But most people will buy this set for the drivers and not the bits

This 40 piece set includes 3 handles, 2 cable flex shafts, 2 extension shafts, 2 magnetic bit drivers, drive shaft adapter, 30 bit set and a bit holder that not included in the 40 count. The exterior carrying case is actually usable with two latches that securely hold the case closed. On the insides of the is a blow molded tray which prevents items from moving about but sits loosely in the box. Don’t expect the tray to last, but at least the box is built much better. There are no included instructions, so you are on your own to figure out how to properly use this set. And while that may not be a problem for advance tool users, a newbie might be challenged as how to best utilize this set.The chrome finish is high quality with nice knurling to provide a secure grip. The 3 ratcheting handles have a left, direct, right control ring on the front. The spline on the ring protrudes enough to be able to switch directions with just a flip of the thumb. The large handle has a removable end cap, providing about 2 inches of storage for bits, screw, and other small items. The entire handle is covered with over holding which makes for a nice cushioned grip. BTW the bit storage case includes a bit clip which is another nice touch. The extension shaft can be used for the bit drivers or for 1/4 sockets thus extending the usefulness of this set.The cable shafts turn internally, meaning you can hold on to the shaft without interfering with ratcheting. One of the two cable shafts is meant for driving 1/4 inch sockets while the other is for bit driving.Overall this is a very nice product and while it won’t replace your screw driver set, you can’t use this for prying, it can make quick work of driving various screw heads and sockets.I somehow feel the markings on the control ring are reversed, but I have noticed other makers use the same convention.Except for the interior tray, I am impressed with this set and it will get a workout with my many projects.

The Gearwrench ratcheting, 40 piece, screwdriver set has many various combinations. While there are not any instructions or examples of the various configurations/combinations. With time you will figure out what fits and how. I like that the bit holder can be clipped to a belt for easy access. The bits are standard, and while it does have 30 bits included you can purchase other sizes to fit your needs. Also, you can remove the end cap on the 6- inch handle to store extra bits. Having three different types handles made it nice when tightening up some loose drawer handles, I used the stubby with a #2 Philips bit and the 6″ handle with a flex extension and a #2 Philips bit. The storage box is a “hard” brittle type plastic, so treat it with kid gloves, the lid does close securely though. The interior blow-molded component holder can be lifted out and removed for even more storage below. If you notice the pics below you will see that the hinged lid popped apart but is easily re-connected and can probably be super- glued permanently. As far as longevity see “Wrench kit lid pivot point” pic. The white line is the pivot point, I wonder the durability of this point opening and closing over time. This is a nice well thought out, compact, ratcheting screwdriver set.

The unit comes in carry case that contains all the pieces for easy access and storage. The bits are contained in a separate plastic container that is removeable from the case and can be attached to a belt. There is a wide variety of everyday use bits.Using this screwdriver to insert and remove screws was easy once you get used to the idea of it being a ratchet instead of a regular screwdriver. The flex driver extension was great in harder to reach areas. One point of confusion to me worth noting. On the handle, when you choose the ratchet direction, it appears to be the opposite of what you intend to do. To drive a screw in you would use what would appear to be the remove direction.Other than that one item I found it to be a great replacement for a lot of screwdrivers and socket drivers.

GearWrench Ratcheting Screwdriver Set (40-Piece)This is a really nice high quality set of ratcheting interchangeable screwdrivers. The softer grip texture of all 3 handles gives me a firm grip and they feel good in my hand. The fine toothed (45 tooth 8 deg swing) smooth ratcheting mechanism has the sound and definition of what I would expect in a more expensive tool. You can set the ratchet direction with a slight movement from your thumb for right or left and the middle position locks the shaft for use as manual screwdriver. These all have the shiny bright and smooth chrome finish typical of a high end quality tool and what I expect from my GearWrench tools. With the two flexible shafts and multiple lengthed extensions there probably isn’t any fastener you couldn’t reach with this. I even use my 1/4″ drive sockets with this set. The only negative I can find is that while the receiving end for the bit insert IS magnetic to hold the bits in place, the 30 included S2 quality steel bits are not magnetized. They won’t hold a screw tight on the end of the bit when I am driving a screw in or out. It’s important at times to have a strong magnetic pull especially on such an extended tool when reaching a far distance. I may experiment with magnetizing the bits myself. (You could add more bits that are magnetic) Anyway this is a great set I don’t think you can go wrong with it. Comes with a blow molded case to hold everything and a Standard/Limited Lifetime Warranty from GearWrench.

This replaced a screwdriver set that was hard to keep organized and took up lots of room in my toolbox. There’s no reason to have 20+ shafts and handles when you can have a set with a few shafts of various lengths and a couple of handles that can be made into a variety of combinations with the included bits. One minus though- the bits aren’t the best quality. I already broke a phillips-head bit clean in half when driving a wood screw in by hand. Buy it for the drivers, not the bits.

First off, it is Gearwrench so good quality is already there. The case itself though does not seem very durable. The inside layout was well thought of and you can grab each piece without difficulty. The standard handle has a little compartment for small screws, etc. Each piece ratchets and exchanges heads very easy. The whole thing is rather lightweight which is nice. Highly recommend this screw driver set to anyone.

This review is for the GearWrench Ratcheting Screwdriver Set (40-Piece). This 40 piece set includes 3 handles, 2 cable flex shafts, 2 extension shafts, 2 magnetic bit drivers, a drive shaft adapter, the 30 bit screwdriver set and a bit holder that is not included in the 40 count. I really like the soft grip texture of the three handles, it allows for better gripping and comfort. The ratchet mechanism is easily activated with a slight movement from your thumb for either the tightening position, loosening position or it can be locked in the middle to make it work like a manual screwdriver (no ratcheting). With the two flexible shafts and two extensions you should be able to reach just about any fastener. This is a really nice high quality set of ratcheting interchangeable screwdrivers, that I highly recommend.

Needed a method of tightening small screws that are located underneath a plate with about 5 inches of space between the plate and floor, and had to be able to do it without having both hands there. This works great. The only problem I had was that the screwdriver bits that came with it were too large. I had a set of small ones from another tool and they worked just fine together. Will be buying one for the home shop also.

It works great but I would prefer to have a wider selection of screwdriver tips. Here’s a picture of what I built with it.

GearWrench has designed the most complete and compact Ratching Screwdriver Set I have ever seen. Starting with the case for all of the bits; it is 15 inches long x 8 ¼ inches wide and 2 ¼ inches tall. When closed and latched all of the handles, shafts and bits stay in place even when turned upside down and vigorously shaken. There are 3 handles provided; a T-handle, a stubby handle and a regular screwdriver handle. Each handle is a ratcheting design and works clockwise, counterclockwise and in a fixed position. A wide variety of screwdriver shafts are provided. A nice feature is that the 2 shafts intended for screwdriver bits have a magnetic end to keep the drive bits from falling out. Two of the shafts and a flex shaft have ¼ inch socket ends and can be used as a nut driver when used with ¼ inch sockets (not provided). An adapter for connecting (2) ¼ in. shafts is provided when extra length is required. All of the Screwdriver bits are secured in their own separate case. GearWrench has provided 5 different types of bits; metric and SAE hex bits, Philips bits, metric and SAE slotted screw bits and several Torx bits. There are 30 bits in total for your projects. This Ratcheting Screwdriver Set is perfect for any technician or mechanic that needs a small tool kit to carry to the job site that will meet most of his screw driving needs. I plan to keep my GearWrench screw driving kit in my truck for those unexpected on the road maintenance or repair situations. I highly recommend the GearWrench Ratcheting Screwdriver set .

This is a decent quality ratcheting screwdriver set with all the attachments and handles you might need for many uses. You get 40 pieces that includes 3 types of handles,2 magnetic bit driver shafts,2 regular,2pc flexible shafts, bits in a box with belt clip and a drive shaft adapter in a slim locking box. Sometimes you need a screwdriver in between an electric drill and old school manual and this fills that gap. Simple no brainer usage;choose your handle, shaft and bit and turn dial on handle to screw or unscrew,or set to center for manual turning. I like the different shaft types especially the flex ones when you need some easy reaching and flexing. Decent quality that should last a very long time with multiple usage and applications. The case is ultra slim and can set next to your ratchet set or in a drawer.

GearWrench Ratcheting Screwdriver Set (40-Piece) is a serous set for just about any situation. I have several ratchet screwdrivers, but none up to this set for completeness and versatility. With all the accessories they have extended its capability for tough jobs. It has various bits, handles, screwdriver lengths with extensions and flexible shafts, too. It comes in its own plastic carry case to hold everything. It has three handles: large, stubby and a T-handle. They are all ratcheting, forward, lock and reverse. They included thirty bits with plenty of Philips and Flat heads. The bits are fine and these can be easily replaced when worn, not the real reason for the set. The real reason, in my mind, are the screwdriver bit shafts and extensions. These include two bit shaft lengths (3 1/2-inches and 6-inches) and with the coupler to join it with one of two extensions ( 3 1/2-inches and 6-inches) making it longer. The other advantage is it comes with a cable flex bit shaft and extension (each about 11-inches) that can be bent to fit into tight spots when the screw head is obstructed. The handles are a poly-like material, well made and the extension shafts snap in place easily. The handles are good and allow for applying plenty of torque to them. All the shafts and extensions are well made and heavily chromed. It all feels solid when assembled and is great to have options like this when working. With three handles you can assemble three screwdrivers of various lengths and bits when working. It makes a good set of customizable screwdrivers for special situations or general use. It solves the problem of not having the right screwdriver when you need it.
