I have a metric set of ratcheting wrenches and was excited to test the American standard sizes. These wrenches seemed to be as strong and durable as any I have ever used. The switching lever to change direction makes them feel right like a rachet would. However this being said it seems like one more thing to break so this made me nervous, the simple act of flipping the wrench around seemed simple enough. However I look forward to seeing how they hold up to further use.

Great set of ratcheting wrenches, easy to reverse direrion just flip the lever on the head. Thia loat a star from me due to a minor design issue. The size of each wrench is engraved in the chrome body so at times it can be difficult to see, I would have preferred a way to make it more visible. Wrenches felt comfortable to me and the ratchet mechanism makes it easy to tighten and loosen on long threaded rods.

Great set of wrenches. As a professional mechanic these are essential, especially when working in tight sometimes hot areas. “HIGHLY RECOMMENDED” Very durable and easy to handle. Use both professionally and personally.

Very nice 8 piece ratcheting wrench set. 72 teeth ratchet states a 5 degree movement per click. Its very close after the first click. As with all the ratcheting sets I have tried there is a little play or “wiggle” so i would estimate the first click is about 10 degrees and then 5 after. Handles are comfortable. The edges are rounded with a small flat edge. The lever is flush with the edge of the ratchet so it wont’ get caught in tight spaces. very easy to change directions. the open end is offset to minimize rounding the nuts which is always a good feature. The ratchet holder pops out of the plastic case so it can be hung on a wall. the ratchets are held in place with a tab so they won’t fall off.

The 8 piece gear wrench reversible ratcheting wrench set is the best tool set j have ever had they are wonder full and the container they come in you can keep them in and keep them organized. You can use them like a socket set but they work better in tight spots and you can keep them on the nut or bolt and ratchet them instead of taken the wrench of and putting them back on as you loosen the bolt. They do hold up good when you put a lot of pressure on them to.brake a bolt loose. They are well made aassortment in sizes and perfect in the weight and nice chrome finish . You want go wrong in getting this set of gearwrench set.

I was skeptical about buying these, looked at them numerous times and finally bought a set, my tool box has now been cleared of other brand wrenches. 🙂 My only regret is not buying them a long time ago.

I’ve owned socket wrench sets with ratchet handles since I was about fifteen (15) years old. My first was a “Husky” set purchased, around 1957 or 1958, which I still have, albeit with a few missing sockets. When I first started seeing these combination wrenches with a ratchet box wrench, in addition to saying “why didn’t I think of that,” I said to myself, “I’m going to get myself a set of those,” and I got a set of GearWrench metric ratcheting wrenches. After using the metric wrenches a couple of times, I had to have some ASE wrenches in popular wrench sizes too, so I got this set.My recall is the first sets I saw were not reversing, you had to turn the wrench over to revise the direction, but I may be wrong. In any case, you don’t have turn the wrench over with these GearWrench wrenches. These wrenches have a reversing lever to quickly change the direction of the wrench just like most socket wrench handles. Also the box end is angled 10 to 15 degrees to better get at tight places. This set of wrenches is the 2nd GearWrench produce I’ve owned, and I’m very impressed. These wrenches are heavy, rugged and well made, with a polished chrome finish. The 8-piece set includes SAE sizes from 5/16” to 3/4 so it should cover most jobs, although it would have been nice to have 7/8” and 1” wrenches too. The manufacture says, “The box end utilizes Surface Drive technology which provides off-corner loading for better grip and reduced fastener rounding,” and the box does fit the SAE bolt heads and nuts perfectly with no noticeable play. These wrenches aren’t going to replace your socket wrenches, but they will be a time and effort saving addition in places where you would normally use a box or open end wrench. These Gearwrench combination wrenches are top quality and you won’t go wrong adding a couple of sets of them to your hand tool collection.

Excellent set of reversible wrenches. Feel great and the length of the wrenches are perfect. Has the 8 common sizes. Best feature is the surface drive design that makes it hard to round fasteners. Lever and gear feel strong and sturdy. Lever does not get in the way, it’s very compact. Very little rotation to move nuts and bolts. Lifetime warranty is a great benefit.

Very nice Ratcheting wrench set, very slim and they have made the lever (loose /tighten) flush with the wrench which I like a a lot. The movement of the wrench has a very small play in it I am guess about 5 degrees at most. The identification on the wrenches are nice, with my bad eyes they are easy to see. the set comes in a nice case with all wrenches exposed for your choices. The teeth on these rachets work really nicely, grabs firmly and really comfortable to work with. I used these primarily for my motorcycle maintenance, they work great!

This is the Third set of GearWrench ratcheting wrenches that I have gotten, and I could not be happier with any of them. This is an 8 pc. SAE (English) set starting at 5/16 and ending at ¾” all packaged in a nice plastic storage tray that can be mounted having the wrenches vertically. Love the wrench holding tabs on the case as my metric set does not have it and the wrenches fallout when mounted on my peg board. You can also separate the center holder from the surrounding tray making the package have a smaller footprint without giving up the organizational action of the holding tabs by removing two black tabs on the back side of the tray (see photos). The action feels firm with minimum wiggle or slop and has a sharp crisp engagement sound with each tooth. The box end ratcheting drive is manufactured with “off corner” or side loading to reduce the corner rounding and allowing much greater torqueing power much like the TORX plus fasteners do. So, it acts like a 6 point when it is really a 12 point. All the wrenches are straight with a smooth bright chrome finish with sizes clearly stamped on both sides and the whole design caters to being able to fit into tight spaces where limited movement can happen. The ratcheting head is at a 15-deg. angle for increased clearance and has a 72-tooth gear requiring only 5 deg. of movement to engage the next tooth. The “PLUS” is the reversing lever for the ratcheting head. You no longer need to take the wrench off the fastener and flip it around to reverse direction. So, each time I go to use the box end I no longer need to check how the ratchet is going as I can do it on the fly. There is only one feature that disappointed me in an otherwise stellar product, and it was in the machining of the flat under the ratchet reversing lever. Any one who has been in the business (machining) can tell at a glance that the tool being used to make this cut had long been worn out and should have been changed. The wrenches are made in China and this observation is cosmetic only and in no way effects the function of the product. Great set of wrenches well-made should last a long time recommended.

I’m very happy that I found these, they will definitely come in very handy and they will get alot of use . I definitely love the rachet end on the open end wrench. I know they come in metric size also.I know it will make it easier to remove bolts and nuts with the racheting on the end of the open end wrench.I am going to enjoy these so much.Thank you.My friends need to please check these out they will not be disappointed and they make them in metric also.
