The Gefen Inc. VGA-141LR Long-Range VGA Extender (LR) is a transmitter and matching receiver kit that allows a user to separate computer components up to 330′ (100 m,) far beyond the reach of standard desktop cables. It uses inexpensive and common CAT5 network cable to connect the sender and receiver over great distances. Sample installations include public kiosks where the computer needs to be in a different and/or secure location.

I have this extender system hooked from a laptop to a projector in our church sanctuary through 150 feet of cat5E cable and it works great! The picture quality is excellent and it almost set itself up. The only con I have about this is the vga cable supplied with it is very heavy duty and does not install very easily.

I was going to run a VCA cable some 20+ feet from computer to monitor, but dealing with the 15 pin connector size and putting holes in the walls to acommadate did not sound that great. I decided too give this a try and was very pleased with the picture quality.
