I needed this right now to cut out Photobooth props on card stock glued to foam core board. My fried said he does the cutting with a razor knife. Tried that, major effort, I starting using this and I have alot of control and can go at my own pace. Very smooth edges. this vibration from the saw makes the light move. Not a big deal. I had it up and running in 4 minutes. Next I have to cut an internal rectangle in 3/4 inch thick decorative railing back plate to nount a door bell. Will learn more doing that. Overall, nice for what I need it for.

Seems like a good little saw. My old saw is a Sears model from the 1960s I think. Single speed, noisy, weighs a ton, and is somehow underpowered anyway. Compared to that, this saw is variable speed, easier to change blades and takes both kinds, adds a work light, dust blower and dust port, and is lighter with a bigger table.First, I noticed the blade was slightly out of kilter, which is not unexpected. I squared the table to the blade, and then adjusted the angle pointer to match. The table surface felt a little rough, so I smoothed it down with 1000 grit sandpaper, especially the edges. Finally, I removed the ‘blade guard’, which I really don’t need. The dust blower and light are separate from the blade guard. The dust port is typical, whether it fits anything you have is pure chance, I wish there was a standard for these things, but there isn’t.Blade changes are easy with the included wrench, and the lower blade mount is easily visible through the table when you take out the insert. The blade wrench stores conveniently in a socket at the back of the saw. There is a little compartment at the side where you can store extra blades and the wrench for the blade guard. There is also a little tray where you can keep ready spare blades.Feature-wise, this saw is a big win over my ancient one. Variable speed is what I really wanted. The fixed-speed saw works fine on wood, but tends to melt plastic. Often, the plastic flows back together behind the blade and re-joins, and if you stop, it will solidify around the blade and you can throw the whole thing away, blade and all. This saw can slow down to 400 rpm, which is slow enough to cut even difficult clear plastics without overheating. The slow speeds are also nice if you are doing fine work and don’t need a screaming banshee of a saw. At the other end of the speed scale, it cut 2 inch hard pine with little trouble and no bogging down, which my old saw was very prone to.I noticed the instructions talk about oiling the arm bearings. My old saw has the same kind of bronze bushings, and I doubt they have ever been oiled or needed it; I have the old instructions and they make no mention of it. At any rate, putting few drops of oil on now and then is no big deal.Looking at pictures, this saw is basically identical to a number of other brands. All these saws have identical major components, like the base casting, table, arm assembly, motor etc. They differ only in details like blade mount, knobs and color. Clearly all made to the same design in China, if not in the same factory. Compared to its siblings, this saw is lower-priced and superior in a number of details like the dust blower. If they were all next to each other, I would pick this one.My one peeve is that the on/off switch is mounted sideways and out of sight below the table. It should be up and down, so you swipe up for on and down for off. I guess I can get used to sideways, but right now it is a lot of fumbling. The manufacturer should take notice and fix this.

An essential part made of plastic broke, which makes it unusable. It also is almost impossible to use on 2” wood because the user must go so very slowly, and even then blades break after only a few minutes use. Finally, changing blades is a difficult and time-consuming task. Can I return it instead of paying the amount owed?

I haven’t been able to use it yet because of the weather, but the reviews I have seen on the saw have been impressive. Looking forward to warmer weather to try it out.

I purchased this scroll saw for an immediate project which consisted of cutting 20 gauge steel. Although it is not the most effecient for metal cutting, it did do the job. I have cut some wood with it and the saw works great. I do wish it had a little more powerful air blower and longer shaft for the light. The blower is good for the wood that I have cut but a little week for metal filings. The light is bright but is limited to just the side. I would like it to light up more infrount of the blade.

This is an excellent saw and just right for my hobby needs. It has a light and a little blower and all works great. I enjoy using it.

Good scroll saw for the money.

This is an inexpensive, no frills scroll saw that gets the job done. I have this is the third scroll saw that I have owned in 20 years of wood working. I didn’t need all the bells and whistles of the top of the line machines and am living on a limited retirement income, so this machine was a great answer. The air nozzle is a little on the weak side, but other than that, the saw performs well.

This is my first scroll saw so I didn’t want to over-spend but researched other scroll saws and opinions. I started shopping for the cheapest first and found complaints that manufacturing was done overseas and there were problems with fit and function. As I moved up in price I found the same complaints on even the $500 Dewalt scroll saw so back to square one.One suggestion I read on buying your first scroll saw is to get one with a dedicated pin-less blade attachment. Pinned blades are are thicker and have a courser pitch for rough cutting whereas pin-less are thin, fine pitched jewelers blades and quicker to change. This was the lowest priced dedicated pin-less scroll saw I could find.I was concerned about the physical size and weight of this machine being less than the competition. But after contemplating I decided this was an advantage for me since I have limited room and need to move it around. It comes completely assembled except for attaching the air hose. I placed it on top of my roll-away to test it out on some 1/8″ PVC and found it was surprisingly quiet and stable. No need for solid mounting. The blade does move side to side just slightly but cuts smooth at any speed. I don’t see the slight movement to be an issue. The only (minor) issue I see being a problem is accessing the lower blade clamp. You have to insert an allen wrench inside a hole in the left side of the shroud. Taking off the shroud would affect the use of a vacuum but I will probably remove it and add thumbscrews on the top and bottom. There were no reviews on this machine so I took a chance. I think it was a great choice. I’m using the original box for storage which it cool. I had a cut out a bit of the original styrofoam for an easier fit but a box can be stored in a lot more places than the open saw

Saw is fine. However, have not finished a single cut without breaking a blade!

Terrific value for the price. Operates perfectly. Flexible LED light is an excellent feature. Dust port works very will with ShopVac type devices.
