I was surprised to see a drill press at this price. I mounted it on my work bench and it works as I had hoped.

I had to get out my Metric tap and die set to fix the screw and thread on the table. The screw wouldn’t thread into the hole at all therfore the table could not be fastened tightly to the column. Very nice press. Runs nice and smooth. The laser is not totally accurate, close but not center to the bit.

purchased when it was on sale for $69 w/free ship. I’m satisfied with it, but wouldn’t pay much more for it. One of the lasers doesn’t work well, maybe it just mine. The front cover easily slips out of place. Also, the drill pulls to the right when the max drilling depth, 2 inches, is reached. On the other hand, I was drilling 7075 aluminum and it worked great. There was vibration, but I clamped it to my work bench and it didn’t affect my work. It’s easy to assemble and operate. It’s definitely a budget drill, but the parts and components that matter are strong and sturdy. If I get 5 years out of it, I’ll be completely satisfied.

Works great. Love the laser cross hairs. Add a drill press vise and you’re ready to rock-n-roll. Finally I can get straight holes in pvc tubing.

I am very happy with this purchase. The Drill is great, better than expected, especially after reading some negative reviews. I’d like to mention that some reviews mentioned some issues, like run-out. My General is true as an arrow.

You get what you pay for. Is ok, but not happy with drill overall. Was easy to put together, but the instructions don’t give info on how to install shield so I had to do a McGiver to get it on after putting the chuck in. You need to keep the belt cover (lid) open or it jams the belt wheels and the moter will not turn. This happens after you adjust the moter to take up the slack on the belt. Also you have to give the belt wheel a push to get it moving on your first start, then it turns on ok. Cheap drill press, ok for little hobby jobs. Would get a better one if you are doing serious projects.

It is easy to assemble and use. The reason I give only three stars to this product is that the cover of battery box could not be closed after battery installed (see the attached image). I am not going to return this drill since I use it only for some simple work.

I have limited space where I live now and don’t have my full workshop anymore. This is lightweight, portable, and somewhat decent for a DIYer. Just a few minor problems, but I have worked around them:1. The Chuck has to be pressed in, not screwed in like my previous drill press. Took a while to hammer it on the shaft with a block of wood and a rubber mallet.2. The laser is pointless in direct light, and one laser is brighter than the other. If you need a precise hole drilled, it is better to line up the bit to where you want to drill without turning it on.3. The guard is useless. The bits I am using are nearly the same length so I am not able to drill all the way through. I am also using a 6 inch hole saw for some of my projects and the arbor is blocked by the guard. Even if you flip the guard up, it hangs up when you return it. Easy enough to remove.4. When using a hole saw bit, YOU HAVE TO GO SLOW!!! Going too fast while drilling causes chattering and you have extremely rough edges, or the bit binds and hangs up the motor.5. The Chuck key has a spring loaded pin, so if you let go for a second, it shoots out about 10 feet. Just get another one.All in all, it is a decent press for a crafter, DIYer, hobbyist, one with a tight budget, or one with limited space.

Arrived promptly and in good condition. Mostly good assembly instruction book, although how to adjust the laser beams wasn’t that clear…had to use some trial and error.Smooth and quiet running. Seems to have good motor performance for such a small drill press. Some of the plastic parts, including the depth stop plate and the knobs on the operating handles are kind of soft, detracting from the feel of quality. It will be interesting to see how these pieces hold up. The safety guard around the chuck had to be removed to allow use of a rotary planing head, the main tool that I need to use with this press.I like the safety plunger in the chuck key, making it practically impossible to start the unit with the key in place. Smart!

The head containing the motor had a lot of play when assembled to the upright pole

In the instructions, it didn’t say when to put the guard on so after I finished putting it together, I forgot to put it on.

You get what you pay for. The 8″ press only has 2″ of chuck travel. Barely enough to get through a 2x. No instructions for attaching the depth gauge or the shield. Other than that the setup was easy. It is significantly under-powered. I tried to drill a 1.25″ counter-sink hole into a fir 2×6 with a forstner bit. The bit barely caught in the wood before the press stalled out.

I am please with the scale and performance of this simple entry level press. It was perfect for my small home hobby project.

This drill press replaced a 20 year old same manufacturer drill press. I does everything the old one did (drill holes) and more when using the laser sight. Also like the new on and off switch.

Some issues with assembly instructions. I figured it out from the pictures. For the money, it did a fine job of consistently drilling holes. Guard interferes with the motion of the bit, but I probably need longer bits. As a DIY’er this is all the drill press I’ll ever need.
