Arrived quickly and in good shape. The press is exactly what what advertised, and it fits my needs well. I do wish that the depth stop could be installed without the plastic safety guard, as the guard gets in the way of smaller bits, but if you’re just a bit resourceful, you’ll figure out how to mount the stop with only the necessary portion of the plastic piece. Great value for the money. I have no idea how anyone can build and ship something this heavy for such a low price. Also be aware that the instructions don’t cover the installation of the safety guard, so you may miss putting it on until the end, which would mean you need to remove the chuck.

The advertising doesn’t lie, as this is an exceptionally smooth running machine for being the least expensive one on the market. It’s smaller than it looks in the pictures, and that’s perfect. My last drill press was one from Harbor Freight and it worked fine, but it was very loud and not as easy to move from place to place. When I turned on THIS unit, I could not believe how quiet it was – and that’s important because I tend to work overnight in my shop, with the wife sleeping just 20 feet away. The slight rattle was cured by tightening the belt. I’m a professional work-at-home audio technician, so I broke out the sound level meter and measured the noise from 3 feet away at an unbelievable 51 dB. To put this into perspective, the ambient noise level of a room with NO conversation and NO activity is around 30 – 35 dB. That’s just the fridge running in the background, a couple computers running with NO SOUND – just the whirring of the cooling fans – ticking of wall clocks, etc. Love the way it looks and operates!

The drill was easy to install, laser guide very useful, and good safety parts.

I can understand that even if this drill pressed is used in a home environment it might not satisfy everybody’s needs. Count me in the “YES” camp. My projects are not large so this small drill press will handle everything I do. Most important, it will eliminate the use of a hand drill in frustrating situations. No more walking drill bits… no more oblong holes… the drill bits cut into metal like butter.I did read the other reviews here before the purchase so I was aware of the missing step of installing the chuck guard. But it wasn’t a big deal. I was able to remove the chuck in order to install the chuck guard, which incidentally holds the depth gauge. After drilling a few holes I found that the guard is very annoying. Seeing the drill bit at the moment it touches the piece to be drilled clearly thru the plastic pieces is a challenge. This was the first time in my like when I used a drill press with a chuck guard in place so I decided I will not miss it. I removed the screw that serves as a hinge for the guard and unhooked the 2 springs. I left the flange in place since that holds the depth gauge. The laser is kind of useless. While it works, I cannot consider it a “cross-pattern precision laser guide system”. Too much of the laser lines overlap to provide a precise target. So the old center punch is not out of a job yet.Inserting the 2 laser batteries is a challenge in itself. One of the batteries just doesn’t want to stay put. It kept popping out.The slots for mounting a drill press vise are spaced 4 inches apart. So a 4 inch vise will not fit the slots as the mounting slots on the vise are spaced 5 or 5 1/5 inches apart. You can use a 4 inch vise but it will not be secured to the table. If you want to secure the vise you will need one that has 2.5 inch wide jaws. There is no chuck key holder but one can be easily added. The drill press is relatively quiet when running. There is no vibration. The speed can be changed relatively easy. All in all I am satisfied.

Good little drill press but a little under powered for drilling 1/2” holes in steel.

Great for small jobs, , assembly directions were kind of vague, someone with any mechanical knowledge would find it confusing , also lazer shield makes bit change difficult. Otherwise its a good machine for the price.

Shipping was good, packaging was good. Setup no problem, the manual cover everything I need and after a days use I’m still a happy camper. I purchase it for pipe making and light duty work. As long as you keep that in mind you will be ok. Oh yes the price is good. LOL
