Nice saw. Works great.

Machine has everything user needs but what makes me put that rating are two things, extremely loud noise and mounting new blade is not an easy job.

Nice, I still haven’t had a need to use the laser with a battery and just found that I can tie down the wood. I am not a pro but it does the job well! I bought it for mitering and doing 45 degree cuts in wood.

Good for the money -half way between amateur and professional but Incredible product support by the guys at General International. The saw had some damaged parts when delivered. Rather than go through the (usual) protracted hassle with the shippers I decided to just go ahead and order the parts from GI and pay for them myself. A phone call was placed on Monday (great to talk to a real human) and the parts arrived on Wednesday. In addition to the very fast service, GI REFUSED payment.More GI tools in my future.

It is good enough for an hobbyist. Not necessary a professional standard tool. If you are an homeowner doing repairs around the house or just making stuff this would be suitable. Wish the laser as powered from electricity instead of battery.

As of right now I’ll will give it a 4 stars for its aperience and quality ,I bought for my husband for Christmas and he hasn’t had a chance to try it out ,only thing it it did not come with battery for the laser ,so that being said I will give update when he uses the product .on how well it performs .thank you

The saw was easy to assemble, but I would recommend reading the care and use manual, especially the part about when making sliding cuts. seems like a sturdy saw and will work great for my needs. it comes with only a few parts to install and if you cant figure out where they go the care and use manual is very helpful. I would recommend this saw to my friends. the dust collection bag is a little weak, don’t think it will be very helpful.

The saw worked well, but it would not perform every function I needed to do.

I am using the the Miter Saw to help me rebuild my redwood stairs and deck, It is a great saw, cuts the angles that I need for the stair support and steps. This saw will do small and big jobs plenty of power even cutting 2×10 at a 45 degree angle.

The manual/instructions were inaccurate and not helpful in several areas. Battery requirements called for the wrong size! Batteries we’re supposed to be included but were not. Changing the blade per the instructions was impossible. Finally figured it out myself. The saw itself seems adequate and has a nice look. Materials are on light side. Definitely not professional grade, but should suit my needs at a very reasonable price!

Laser did not work at all

Works great so far!Only negative is that the dust collector bag is ineffective. It on captures about a third of the saw dust.

Good saw for the cost

Love the new design with the higher performance motor and tool free levers that are heavier duty than the earlier generation. General has also moved the miter adjustment to the front of the saw vs. the back with this new design. I saw this model featured in the June issue of Popular Mechanics as the best value for performance out of all miter saws under $199.

Love it

Face it, it’s a really cheap piece of equipment. All the adjusting fittings are cheap and in some cases poorly designed. Does it look like it will hold up over time, no way. The manual is not clear at all on tuning the adjustments and they even included the wrong sized allen wrench in the kit. That said if you’re a homeowner, can’t afford to pay more, are patient adjusting the saw and treat it gently it will do every job it should and fairly well. If you use the say a lot buy something better.

A decent miter saw for striaght cuts but for angled cuts not a great saw ..would not recommend long term..its a great value but even the slide feature is flawed…again if just doing some striaght cutting 2×4 2×6 you will be fine ..but if you need a competant sliding saw…this is not a good choice
