I expected that the “heavy-duty” punch would have some “heft” where the mass of the tool would be a substantial part of the intertiain driving the point into the sheet metal. But the hand is most of the reaction mass.

So far I have used this more than 300 times to mark drill holes on curved (convex) 3/16″ stainless steel housings. It leaves deep marks evertime that are easy to see and start a drill in. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because I feel the spring has weakened a bit and has slipped twice. For the price I expected a bit more longivity before the this happens. Overall it is the best punch I have found so far.
