I have had limited time to use this tool but thus far I have been pleased with it. I would recommend it to someone wanting a reasonably priced dovetail jig.

The General EZPro Aluminum Dovetail jig is an inexpensive yet extremely useful tool. Woodworkers who are looking for an easy and reliable way to create half or full dovetail joins should look no further than the heavy duty General Dovetail jig. The EZPro is made of heavy aluminum and requires the use of a router. The dovetail jig can be used alone with a router or with a router table. The General EZPro comes with an easy to understand manual and with a dovetail rounter bit. The jig accommodates from 1/2 inch up to 1 inch thick stock.

After one [1] false start, the jig does it’s job. Clamps are a little weak though

The jig is substantial and works well once the user has absorbed all the instructions. Be ready to use up a fair bit of scrap wood with practice work. The written instructions on adjusting the depth of cut to achieve a tight fit were useless. Only figured this out after watching all the videos on the web site.

This jig is very interesting to play with. Always test your setup first on some scrap wood and follow the instructions exactly. Soon you will be producing some nice joints.

I used the General Tools EZ Pro dovetail jig for a small project. The way the tool works, particularly the way cuts are aligned is quite good. Aligning cuts on the boards to be joined was not difficult, requiring only a couple practice runs on pine scrap to get it right. Not so good is the overall “softness” of the tool. The flexible aluminum body and flimsy clamp screws allow movement within the jig and between the jig and the work. Trying to use the clamp screws to press flat even a small cup or warp in the stock causes distortion in the body of the jig, and the small, soft clamp screws strip easily. For my small, one off project I considered the jig a good tool and a good value. If my next project brings harder wood or larger, heavier pieces that aren’t dead flat, I will have to buy a heavier duty jig.

this dovetail jig met all my requirements as I am using 3/4 x 12 stock. It is very easy to use and includes everything you need to create your dovetail or box joints. The router bit included has stood up to the challenge.

I have been doing dovetails by hand forever. I finally bought a jig and this one is far better than I could have hoped for as a first time user of a dovetail jig. It is easy to use and the instructions are great.,

Honestly, this was a gift. So I don’t have any knowledge of the product. It was however what he requested.
